New Jersey Devils vs Toronto Maple Leafs Pick Prediction 3/22/2022
Devils: In a division featuring a ton of B and B-minus clubs, New Jerseys is now in last place, “just” two points behind Philadelphia.
At home, the Devils have been reasonable of late, including wins over St. Louis and Colorado entering Tuesday’s game against the Rangers at The Rock.
However this is a back-to-back situation, hopping an over-nighter across the border to Southern Ontario, which means Major Trounle: 2-8-3 SU (2-11 ATS), with one win early in the year, then a who-cares win in Montreal.
Still, although the loss total is indecent, many have been in overtime/shootouts or a 1-goal games, so maybe NJJD at +1.5 may be of interest.
Another problem: the NJD injury is approaching double-figures, with many not slated to return this season since there is nothing to play for.
Maple Leafs: Toronto played the Devils in a home-and-home series in late January, dominating, 6-4 and 7-1. Thus, there is reason to play the Puck Line on an under-manned opponent playing in a back-to-back situation.
Who are the current Leafs. Despite being 4-2-1 SU (4-3 ATS) in L7, two of the setbacks were at home to Arizona and Buffalo. That’s a good reason you need to ‘cap each game and not just wager on any team blindly — there are no automatic bets!
Goalie Jack Campbell is gone for at least two more week (rib), but Erik Kallgren has been a pleasant surprise considered club management holds little trust in Petr Mrazek
Expect Toronto to take more than 40 shots, then rush the net for rebounds against a young Devils defensive corps.
Prediction: Toronto is the side, but the chalk is far too high. We prefer the…. OVER.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs Buffalo Sabres Pick Prediction 3/22/2022

Hey, when you miss the playoffs for most of the 21st Century, you take what crumbles you can find! Thus, they are on a 4-1 run (SU and ATS), featuring a nice 109 overtime victory over Calgary, and a win over Toronto in the Heritage Classic contest in Hamilton, Ont.
This is the first of 6-in-8 at home.
Prediction: The obvious choice in Pittsburgh but there are so many subtle elements going the othe way, we will place small piece of action on… SABRES.

Vancouver at Colorado Pick Prediction 3/22/2022
Canucks: A hearty “Welcome Back” to Brad Richardson, who was re-acquired by Vancouver from the Calgary Flames. He won a Cup in his rookie season with Colorado, but his lack of speed became a concern with the Flames, so he was jettisoned.
For “The Vanc,” it ws just a public relations move, as Richardson is expected to retire and become an assistant coach where he is loved by the fans and well-respected by the front office.
Richardson will be expected to take 22-year old D Quinn Hughes under his wing. Meanwhile, D Quinn Hughes owns an excellent plus/minus at 14 playing in front of goalie Thatcher Demko.
NumbersL Canucks are 1-3-3 SU in L6 (1-7 ATS), with a 1-43 nod to the Over because Demko is over-used sincee the career of back-up Jaroslav Halak is considered over.
Avalanche: Really, do you need to read this? Fine.
Goals For: 244 (2nd of 32), Goals Against: 175 (9th of 32), SRS: 1.00 (3rd of 32), SOS: -0.10 (32nd of 32). And the power play is No. 1.
Best regular-season team in hockey against one of the poorest squads, even with Bruce Boudreau behind the bench.
Prediction: However, avs are just 5-4 SU in L9, so they may not be focused in what should e a massive mismatch… PASS.
Chicago at Anaheim Pick Prediction 3/22/2022
Blackhawks: Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury gets enjoy a Stanley Cup playoff chase in Minnesota– – gaining a potential third 1st-round sraft choice –while also sending promising winger Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Plus, Calgary traded for fourth-line forward and penalty killer Ryan Carpenter in exchange for draft picks, maintaining the Flames core players.
Chicago coaches now need to answer: who will mind the net tonight at Honda Center. Probably Kevin Lankinen, who played every third game when Flower was potted on the bench.
Like Anaheim, Chicago’s second-half skid started with a loss to Seattle on Jan. 17, going 15-18-5 SU (15-23 ATS) to its current mark of 22-32-9 SU (22-41 ATS) — a drop of 7-18 ATS in L 25.
The Blackhawks have gone 9-3 to the over in L14.
Ducks: For some reason, goalie Trevor Zegras is under consideration for Rookie of the Year. However, I must prefer Detroit forward Lucas Raymong, the third-leading scorer on the Red Wings, as far superior odds.
Another under consideration are Cole Caufield of Montreal, but the Canadiens ultra-poor season will nix his realistic chances. Besides, Canada media is pushing harder for Edmonton’s Connor McDavis to with the Hart Trophy as most valuable player — they won’t get both (probably neither).
Anaheim is in such form, even head coach Dallas Eakings in on the “injury list.” he was plunked in the head by a puck on Tuesday, He “remained in the game” and coaches the balance of another poor performance by the Ducks: 0-7-2 SU (0-9 ATS).
The lousy play extends even further back with just one win in the last 12. The streak started with a Feb. 12 loss at home to Seattle — Ugh!
Prediction: Why are thinking about this game? If John Gibson is in goal for the Ducks, the Over might be taken off the table, too. Often the best bet is the one you don’t let… PASS.
