MLB Home Run Picks July 10: Chris Adkins’ Hit List Backs Seven Bats to Go Deep

Chris’ Hit List: Seven Home Run Picks for July 10

Welcome back to the Hit List, where Chris Adkins hunts down the best home run props on the board. After cashing five home runs on Thursday, Chris rolls into Friday with a fresh set of power plays ahead of the All-Star break. Below are the seven bats he is backing to go deep, each chosen on matchup, pitch type, and platoon power. Let’s dig into the Hit List.

Jake Bowers, Brewers vs. Braxton Ashcraft

The Hit List leads off with Jake Bowers of the Brewers facing Braxton Ashcraft in Pittsburgh. Ashcraft has surrendered nine home runs to left-handed batters, and Bowers brings serious pop against right-handed pitching with 14 homers off righties. Ashcraft leans on his four-seam fastball 34% of the time, and Bowers already owns four home runs against that pitch type. The matchup and the platoon edge make Bowers a strong leadoff play.

Riley Greene, Tigers vs. Aaron Nola

Next up is Riley Greene of the Tigers against Aaron Nola in Detroit. Nola has allowed 11 home runs to left-handed batters this season, and Greene has 11 homers off right-handed pitching. Nola throws his four-seam fastball 26% of the time, and Greene has taken that offering deep six times already. With winds blowing out and a favorable platoon spot, Greene is a prime candidate to add to the Hit List tonight.

Curtis Mead, Nationals vs. Ryan Weathers

Curtis Mead of the Nationals draws Ryan Weathers, and the matchup fits the Hit List profile. Weathers has allowed 13 home runs to right-handed batters, and Mead has six homers off left-handed pitching. Weathers throws a sinker 29% of the time, and Mead has connected for five home runs against that pitch type. A right-handed bat with pop facing a homer-prone lefty is exactly the kind of edge Chris targets.

Sal Stewart, Reds vs. Shota Imanaga

Sal Stewart of the Reds gets Shota Imanaga in Cincinnati, and the numbers are loud. Imanaga has allowed 14 home runs to right-handed batters, and Stewart owns six homers off left-handed pitching. Imanaga throws his four-seam fastball a heavy 44% of the time, and Stewart has crushed that pitch type for nine home runs. In a hitter-friendly park, Stewart is one of the strongest plays on the Hit List.

Randal Grichuk, White Sox vs. Jacob Lopez

Randal Grichuk of the White Sox faces Jacob Lopez, who has allowed nine home runs to right-handed batters. Grichuk brings seven homers off left-handed pitching, and Lopez turns to his slider 25% of the time. Grichuk has taken that pitch deep once already, and with winds blowing out, the veteran slugger has the pop and the matchup to reach the seats. He earns a spot on the Hit List tonight.

Jordan Walker, Cardinals vs. Chris Sale

Jordan Walker of the Cardinals takes on Chris Sale, a tougher assignment but one with real power upside. Sale has allowed seven home runs to right-handed batters, and Walker owns six homers off left-handed pitching. Sale throws his four-seam fastball 44% of the time, and Walker has six home runs against that pitch type. Against an elite lefty, Walker’s track record versus the fastball keeps him on the Hit List.

Kazuma Okamoto, Blue Jays vs. JP Sears

Closing out the Hit List is Kazuma Okamoto of the Blue Jays against JP Sears. Sears has allowed three home runs to right-handed batters and leans on his four-seam fastball 36% of the time. Okamoto brings five homers off left-handed pitching and has taken that fastball deep nine times. That fastball history makes Okamoto a dangerous late play to round out Chris’ seven-pack of power picks.

Recapping the Hit List

That is the full Hit List for July 10: Jake Bowers, Riley Greene, Curtis Mead, Sal Stewart, Randal Grichuk, Jordan Walker, and Kazuma Okamoto, all backed to go deep. Chris always reminds you that straight bets are the safer, smarter play, but Friday is Hit List night, so if you are feeling it, sprinkle a two- or three-leg parlay on top of your straights.
