Carolina Hurricanes vs Vegas Golden Knights Best Bets
June 6, 2026 NHL Stanley Cup Picks – Carolina is coming off the 4-3 overtime win, and the market is still treating this like a near coin-flip because Vegas is back at home. That makes sense. The Golden Knights already proved in Game 1 they can absorb Carolina pressure, lose the early shot quality battle, and still turn mistakes into goals. They won that opener 5-4 with five different goal scorers, then were right there again in Game 2 before Carolina stole it late on special teams. Carolina is 6-0 in overtime this postseason, so the clutch edge is real, but that also says these games are tight enough that laying much juice with the road team is not attractive. Vegas at home is the cleaner side for me. The Knights have the better top-end offensive talent with Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, Mark Stone, Tomas Hertl, and Shea Theodore all able to create without needing perfect zone time. Carolina has more depth and forecheck pressure, but Vegas has handled that by keeping pucks moving fast and not letting the Canes grind every shift below the goal line. The total is tricky because both games cleared 5.5, but the way they got there was not clean domination. Game 1 had a blown 2-0 Carolina lead and late Vegas finishing. Game 2 needed a pulled goalie sequence, a late challenge swing, and overtime. Still, the defensive numbers are not screaming under right now. Carolina has scored four in both games. Vegas has scored five and three. Both goalies have been fine, not stealing games. Carter Hart gave up four on limited volume in Game 2. Frederik Andersen gave up five in Game 1 and three in Game 2. Not awful, not shutdown. Vegas should get better matchups at home, especially with last change helping the Eichel/Marner line avoid Carolina’s heaviest pressure spots. Carolina’s penalty kill is a strength, but Vegas’ power play has enough skill to punish one or two lazy stick penalties. Brayden McNabb’s status matters too because if he is limited or out, Vegas loses a heavy minutes defenseman, and that hurts their defensive-zone structure. But it also pushes this toward pace and offense, not a clean Carolina road win. The Canes are dangerous because their second and third lines keep producing, and Seth Jarvis just delivered a massive goal, but Vegas has the better bounce-back setup. Home ice, better star finish, and a short price. I’ll take Vegas moneyline and also lean over again if the number stays at 5.5.
