The Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins will begin their three-game series at Target Field on Friday night. The Twins have a record of 50-47, while the White Sox have a record of 40-57 going into this game.

In their initial series back in May, the White Sox defeated the Twins twice out of three times.

Yasmani Grandal led the offense with two RBIs on Thursday as the White Sox avoided getting swept in New York. The catcher for Chicago is hitting.250, and this was his second two-hit game against the Mets in three contests.

However, he only recorded a hit in four of the 11 games he participated in in July. The White Sox have the 11th-worst club batting average in baseball with a.238 mark.

Their 241 walks were the second-fewest in the game, while their 413 runs were the ninth-fewest in the contest.

The Chicago White Sox are 22nd in the league in scoring offense with 4.2 runs scored per game. They scored 407 runs overall and had a 0.296 team on-base percentage.

The White Sox hit 108 baseballs from the stadium and recorded 164 two-baggers. This season, they have 788 base hits, 395 RBIs, and a 0.238 team batting average.

Chicago has a slugging percentage of 0.391, 853 strikeouts, and 239 walks.

The pitching staff has a collective WHIP of 1.37 and a K/BB ratio 2.44. White Sox pitchers gave up 480 runs and 134 long balls, ranking 25th in MLB. Chicago gave up 443 earned runs and 799 hits (8.4 per nine innings).

The White Sox have the 25th-lowest ERA in the league this season (4.63), and their pitching staff has struck out 926 hitters. Their season FIP is 4.66, and they have walked 380 opponents.

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins Predictions 7/21/2023

Right-hander Joe Ryan will take the mound for the Minnesota Twins on Friday. Ryan has an ERA of 3.77 and is 8-6. Ryan started the season off strong but has subsequently had trouble.

In his last 18.2 innings, he’s allowed 16 earned runs. He was given a no-decision despite just pitching 5.1 innings and allowing three earned runs against the A’s.

The Twins split their four-game series in Seattle after suffering their first shutout loss of the month on Thursday. Since returning from the break, they have scored 5-2 while scoring 36 runs in their five victories.

Through 98 games, they amassed 422 runs, placing them 19th overall. They have the eighth-lowest club batting average (.235), while no other team has more than 1002 strikeouts.

Oddly, none of their players rank in the Top 10 AL whiffers, but Joey Gallo is 11th with 105 Ks. The outfielder for the Twins has just four hits in 15 games in July and a.180 batting average overall.

The Twins rank 19th in the league in run production with 4.35 runs scored per game and a team slugging percentage of.410. They generated 422 runs, walked 327 times, and hit 160 two-baggers.

Minnesota has hit 129 home runs this season and driven in 400 runs. They currently have 770 base hits and have been out on strikes 989 times, which ranks first in the league.

This season, the Minnesota Twins have a team OBP of 0.314 and a batting average of 0.236.

The Minnesota pitching staff had an ERA of 3.75 (361 earned runs conceded) and allowed 381 runs during the season. They placed second in baseball with 3.96 runs per nine innings, allowing 102 home runs.

The Twins’ season WHIP and FIP are 1.167 and 3.73, respectively. They have a 9.60 K/BB ratio (929 strikeouts compared to 274 free passes). They have given up 738 hits overall, which puts them first in MLB as a staff.

In response, the Chicago White Sox send out Lance Lynn, who has a record of 6-8 and an ERA of 6.06. Even though those are not typical “Lynn” figures, he has been excellent lately.

In his previous three starts, Lynn recorded two victories and one no-decision. In those 18 innings, he pitched, he allowed nine earned runs.

These two offenses are eerily identical to one another. The White Sox averaged 4.2 runs per nine innings while hitting.236 as a club.

The Twins’ team batting average is.234, and they score 4.4 runs every nine innings. When it comes to the long ball, they are also very similar. Minnesota averages 1.3 dingers per nine, compared to 1.1 for Chicago.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins. The White Sox have been playing much better than Minnesota this season and have dominated them thus far in the series.

The Twins would have been the overwhelming favorites in this contest if it had been played a month earlier. The White Sox have the advantage, though, thanks to the manner Lance Lynn has thrown in his three starts.

Both teams are comparable at the plate, but Lance Lynn is a much superior pitcher when he pitches well. The White Sox are ten games behind the Twins, so they must win this series decisively to close the gap.

Count on Lynn to keep up his recent excellent pitching as they secure a much-needed victory over their division rival Twins. The Chicago White Sox are expected to triumph on the money line, 5-4.
