The Stars won the First Round series thanks to a strong offensive performance that saw them score 21 goals, including eight in the final two games.

The top two lines, Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, and Tyler Seguin, combined for 11 goals and 14 assists, but the whole attack improved.

In addition to the eight helpers from the blue line provided by defenseman Ryan Suter and Miro Heiskanen, Evgenii Dadonov, Jamie Benn, and Mason Marchment combined for six goals and five assists.

Although the offense improved, the Stars’ defense carried them, giving up just 14 goals overall and just three in their last three games.

Esa Lindell, Colin Miller, and Jani Hakanpaa all contributed, forcing mistakes in the defensive zone and closing down shooting lanes.

Heiskanen and Suter spearheaded the top pairing. Goaltender Jake Oettinger also performed admirably in the First Round, stopping 183 shots for a 2.01 goals-against average while saving 4.2 more goals than the norm.
