The Detroit Tigers‘ season appeared to be repeating itself after the first 11 games. Overall, the team was hitting.200, and its offense was once again the least effective in the league.

The Tigers, however, changed to the Comeback Kids as of Thursday. With a 3-1 victory on Thursday in Toronto, the Tigers escaped a whitewash.

Then, on Friday, despite the Giants’ late rally to tie the game, they managed to escape with a victory in the 11th inning thanks to Nick Maton’s three-run home run after needing just one out.

On Saturday, the Tigers overcame a 6-1 deficit and in the 11th inning, Miguel Cabrera singled in the game-winning run.

On Sunday, the Tigers will give the ball to left-hander Michael Boyd in an effort to defeat the Giants 3-0. This is Boyd’s third start of the year, and the Tigers thoughtfully spaced out each of those starts.

While this start is a week after his start against Boston last Sunday, he had six days between his first and second starts.
