The KenPom rankings place Tennessee at No. 5. When defensive and offensive efficiency are adjusted, they are ranked second and 47th, respectively.

The Volunteers played the 37th toughest schedule and defeated Butler (71-45), USC (73-66) in overtime, Kansas (64-50), and Maryland in non-conference play (56-53).

They finished the SEC regular season with a record of 11-7, and Missouri eliminated them from the tournament (79-71). The Volunteers also suffered defeats to Colorado (78-66) and Arizona in non-conference games (75-70).

Santiago Vescovi leads the team with 12.9 ppg on an individual basis. Late in the year, Zakai Zeigler, one of the Vols’ finest defenders and second-leading scorer, suffered a season-ending injury (10.7 ppg, 5.4 apg).

This is by no means one of my favorite plays of the weekend, but you must take the underdog with this many points against a Tennessee team that did not show it can be dominant without Zeigler because it has nothing to lose.
