The Golden Griffins have three home games left in the regular season, giving them a great chance to move out of the conference’s basement. For what it’s worth, they rank 261st according to KenPom, ahead of four MAAC schools.

It was a tremendous beginning for them to win two of their most recent three games, both against teams toward the top of the MAAC standings.

Their most recent game, although being a one-point setback on the road, may demonstrate that they are prepared to compete in the conference tournament.

Canisius pushed Mount St. Mary’s to the limit in Maryland, leading at the break but falling short 75-74. They had good shooting percentages (52.7 and 47.4% on threes), but they were doomed by being outrebounded.

Canisius matched the Mountaineers on the defensive glass but only managed to pull down three while they grabbed nine for themselves.
