The offensive of the Devils stepped up this season, scoring 3.47 goals per game, including seven goals in the last two matches.
The top two lines, Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and Nico Hischier, combined for 73 goals and 87 assists, but the rest of the offense was also quite strong.
To put the offense over the top, defensemen Dougie Hamilton and Ryan Graves contributed 18 goals and 44 assists from the point in addition to the 32 goals and 46 assists that Dawson Mercer, Tomas Tatar, and Yegor Sharangovich scored individually.
While the attack excelled, the defense also improved, surrendering only 2.65 goals per game overall and just 11 in the past four contests.
To provide the team depth, Dougie Hamilton and Damon Severson collaborated for 5.3 defensive point shares, while Jonas Seigenthaler and Ryan Graves had 7.2 defensive point shares and 176 blocked shots.
Vitek Vanecek, the goalie, was also excellent, posting a.917 save percentage, a 2.29 goals-against average on 811 shots, and 9.6 goals saved above average.
