Georgetown was one of the weakest teams from a major conference in college basketball last year, and it was not anticipated that it would improve significantly this year.

The Hoyas undoubtedly did not accomplish that, but last Tuesday’s 81-76 victory over DePaul did allow them to end their 29-game losing run, which was the longest of any club in Big East history.

They came close to winning at St. John’s, falling short to the Red Storm by two points despite being 10-point underdogs.
