The Bruins‘ disastrous defeat to Arizona means they won’t be participating in the College Football Playoff. Their defense was a big factor in the six-point defeat as they allowed AU quarterback Jayden de Laura 315 passing yards.

After getting to the Arizona 29-yard line, UCLA had a chance to win, but it fell short. In that match, UCLA never gave itself a chance as they trailed the Wildcats 14-0, tied the score twice, and eventually won 28-24 on a 5-yard run by Zach Charbonnet with 10:22 remaining.

Arizona, though, answered with a score and a field goal to take the lead and win.

For Chip Kelly and the Bruins, who had a significant victory against Utah on October 8 (42-32) but lost at Oregon before defeating Stanford and Arizona State.

On offense, they have a number of really excellent players, including Charbonnet, who has 1,145 yards running and 13 touchdowns (7.5ypc).
