South Carolina vs. Arkansas College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
South Carolina vs. Arkansas—South Carolina moves to 1-0 with the 35-14 home win to Georgia St. Gamecocks had struggles running the football on the Panthers as they gained 79 yards on 32 carries. Spencer Rattler went 23 of 37 for 227 yards with a touchdown and interception.
Arkansas got past Cincinnati at home 31-24. Razorbacks were able to move the football for 447 yards on the Bearcats behind a balanced attack. They rushed for 224 yards on 45 carries. KJ Jefferson hit on 18 of 26 for 223 yards and three touchdowns. The dual threat QB rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown.
First meeting since 2017 between these schools. Rattler’s interceptions and their lack of run game against a Sun Belt team at home is the concern here. Gamecocks lost all four true road games last year with three of those losses by 25 or greater points. Play Arkansas -7.5.
Alabama vs. Texas College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Alabama at Texas—Crimson Tide opened their season with the 55-0 victory at home against the defending Mountain West champion Utah St Aggies. Crimson Tide rolled up 559 yards on the Aggies building up a 41-0 lead at the half.
Bryce Young completed 18 of 28 for 195 yards and five touchdowns until giving way to his backups. Young rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Alabama held Utah St to only 79 rushing yards on 37 carries with only 8 of 22 through the air.
Longhorns opened up at home to UL Monroe from the Sun Belt and win 52-10. Texas piled up 483 yards in the win. Quarterback Quinn Ewers went 16 of 24 for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Longhorns offense with another year of experience will be improved.
Defense major concern coming off a 93rd ranking in points allowed and 100th in yards per play. On the road last season, the Crimson Tide did give up 29 at Florida and 41 at Texas A&M early in the season.
Longhorns defense could be in for a long day but their offense should find the endzone enough to get over this total. Play Alabama and Texas over 61.5.
Wake Forest vs. Vanderbilt College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Wake Forest at Vanderbilt—Demon Deacons opened with FCS VMI and came away with a 44-10 home win behind 506 yards. Vanderbilt improved to 2-0 following their 42-31 home win to FCS Elon after playing at Hawaii in a late game the following week.
Commodores were outgained by the Phoenix as Elon rushed for 152 yards and threw for 343 yards. Wake Forest has seven starters back on offense and six to the defense. Demon Deacons are without starting quarterback Sam Hartman with an illness.
Mitch Griffs in his start against Elon went 21 of 29 for 288 yards and three touchdowns. He has his top running backs, receivers and four from the offensive line back.
Demon Deacons did play well on the road last season. Commodores defense the concern here and they gave up 472 yards a game last season and giving up 495 yards to Elon was poor. Play Wake Forest -7.
Missouri vs. Kansas St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Missouri at Kansas St—Missouri opened this season with the 52-24 home win to Louisiana Tech. Tigers piled up 558 yards in the win behind a balanced attack. The run game produced 323 yards. Brady Cook hit on 18 of 27 passes for 201 yards with a touchdown and pick.
Tigers held the Bulldogs to only 11 rushing yards on 22 carries. Kansas St hosted FCS South Dakota and won 34-0. Wildcats ran almost three times as much as they threw and gained 299 yards on the ground. Quarterback Adrian Martinez went 11 of 15 for 53 yards but ran only for 39 yards on thirteen carries.
Skylar Thompson is a huge loss for the Wildcats. Martinez backup Will Howard completes only 54% of his passes and has more interceptions than touchdown passes. Tigers have eight starters back on defense so this until should be improved.
The world knows that Missouri is 2-12 against the spread on the road but too many points to give the Tigers with the Kansas St turnover on offense. Play Missouri +8.5.
Duke vs. Northwestern College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Duke at Northwestern—Duke moved to 1-0 with their 30-0 win at home to Temple. Blue Devils were able to move the football for 500 yards in the win. First year starter Riley Leonard completed 24 of 30 for 328 yards and two touchdowns.
The run game generated 172 yards. They limited a rebuilding Owls team to 179 yards and forced two turnovers. Northwestern comes off a bye week after their 31-28 win in Ireland against Nebraska. After a bad 2021 the Wildcats showed great improvement to their offense that generated 528 yards.
South Carolina transfer Ryan Hilinski completed 27 of 38 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns. Wildcats a strong performance on the ground with 214 yards rushing.
Defense did surrender 465 yards to Nebraska with 355 passing yardage. Both offenses showing improvement and Northwestern defense a concern. Play Duke and Northwestern over 55.
Ohio vs. Penn St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Ohio at Penn St—Ohio is 1-0 after their 41-38 home win to FAU. Bobcats moved the football for 476 yards. Kurtis Rourke completed 27 of 34 for 345 yards and four touchdowns. They did run for 131 yards. Bobcats struggled against the pass giving up 364 yards passing to the Owls.
Penn St comes off the 35-31 road win at Purdue. Quarterback Sean Clifford led the Nittany Lions on a game winning drive in the final seconds. He finished 20 of 37 for 282 yards with four touchdowns and one pick.
Penn St ran for only 98 yards on 32 passing. They did allow Purdue 356 passing yards but was strong defending the run allowing 70 yards. Experienced quarterback for Ohio and inexperience defense for Penn St will favor underdog. Play Ohio +24.5.
Arkansas St vs. Ohio St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Arkansas St at Ohio St—Arkansas St opened with FCS Grambling and won 58-3. Red Hawks return five starters on offense and defense. Team comes off a 2-10 season sitting 122nd in scoring defense giving up 40 points a game.
Offensively Arkansas St was 121st in the nation on third down and averaged only 2.6 yards per carry on the ground. They did move the football through the air for 313 yards. Opponents rushed for 6.6 yards a carry and averaged 8.5 yards per pass attempt. Only one starter returns to the offensive line.
Ohio St moves to 1-0 with their 21-10 home win to Notre Dame. Buckeyes defense led the way by holding the Fighting Irish to 253 yards and only 76 rushing yards. C.J. Stroud completed 24 of 34 for 223 yards and two touchdowns.
More was expected from the Ohio St offense in the opener, and they find an opponent to silent their critics. They could put up over 60 on the Red Wolves that gave u an average of 522 yards per game in 2021. Play Ohio St -43.5.
Southern Miss vs. Miami College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Southern Miss at Miami—Southern Miss fell to 0-1 with their 29-27 home defeat to Liberty. Golden Hurricane was able to move the football for 391 yards on the Flames. The run game generated 252 yards. Southern Miss threw a total of fourteen passes in the game and ran it 54 times.
Defensively the Golden Hurricane surrendered 447 yards to the Liberty offense with 244 on the ground. Miami is 1-0 after their 70-13 home win to FCS Bethune Cookman. It was a good debut for Mario Cristobal with the Hurricanes. Seven return on offense and defense.
Tyler Van Dyke is back at quarterback with three starters on the offensive line. Miami has their top running backs returning but exited were their top two receivers, but the remainder are all back.
Golden Eagles were a poor offensive team in 2021 scoring 16 points and gaining 251 yards per game. The passing game was non existent in their opener. Play Miami -26.

North Carolina vs. Georgia St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
North Carolina at Georgia St—North Carolina comes off the 63-61 win against Appalachian St. Tar Heels win despite allowing 40 points in the final quarter. Tar Heels moved the football for 567 yards with 215 rushing. Drake Maye completed 24 of 36 passes for 352 yards with four touchdowns.
In two games Maye is completing 72.6% of his passes for 8.8 yards per pass attempt totaling nine touchdowns. Defense surrendered 649 yards to Appalachian St with 288 rushing and 361 through the air. Georgia St opened up on the road and were defeated 35-14 at South Carolina.
Georgia St run game and defense kept them competitive for nearly three full quarters as the game got away from the Panthers in the final 20 minutes. Quarterback Darren Grainger was just 7 of 29 passing for 111 yards with a touchdown and pick.
This is an experienced Georgia St team returning eight starters on offense with seven on defense. Tar Heels defense was on the field for 81 plays. Defense looked soft but offense should be able to move the football on Georgia St. Play North Carolina and Georgia St over 67.5.
UTSA vs. Army College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
UTSA at Army—UTSA fell to 0-1 with their 37-35 home overtime defeat to a good Houston tea. Roadrunners were able to move the football for 441 yards on the Cougars defense. This is an experienced team returning eight starters. Roadrunners couldn’t hold a 21-7 lead after three quarters.
Their run game sputtered but quarterback Frank Harris hit on 28 of 43 for 337 yards and three touchdowns along with a pick. Harris has four offensive linemen back. On defense UTSA allowed 346 yards to Houston with 206 through the air. Army fell to 0-1 with their 38-28 road defeat to Coastal Carolina.
Black Knights were able to gain 347 yards with 205 rushing for over 5 yards per carry. Army attempted eight passes for 142 yards with two touchdowns and a pick. Black Knights did allow 439 yards to the Chanticleers with 265 rushing.
Army surrendered 174 passing yards with three touchdowns on 12 of 17 passes. Impressed with the Roadrunners offense production against a good Houston team. Play UTSA -2.
South Alabama vs. Central Michigan College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
South Alabama at Central Michigan—South Alabama opened with FCS Nichols St and won 48-7 behind 508 yards of offense. This is an experienced team returning eight starters on offense and defense. Toledo transfer Carter Bradly threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns on 17 of 25 against Nichols St. Jaguars run game has sputtered the past two seasons.
Big improvement for South Alabama on the defense greatly increasing their sacks and interceptions. Central Michigan opened on the road at Oklahoma St and lost 58-44. Chippewas fell behind 44-15 at the half and scored two late touchdowns when the game was decided.
Central Michigan faltered on the ground with only 122 yards on 39 rushes. Chippewas kept quarterback Daniel Richardson in for the full game and hit 36 of 49 for 424 yards with four touchdowns and a pick. Jaguars lost their final four road games last year all by seven or greater points and have lost five straight overall on the road.
Respect Chippewas head coach Jim McElwain and the ability of CMU to get points on the a Cowboys defense that played well last season. Play Central Michigan -4.5.
Western Michigan vs. Ball St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Western Michigan at Ball St—Western Michigan opened at Michigan St and dropped a 35-13 decision. The offense returned only four starters and gained only 334 yards on the Spartans defense. Broncos surrendered seven sacks. Jack Salopek hit on 21 of 26 passes for 194 yards.
Defense surrendered 430 yards to the Spartans with 197 on the ground. Broncos allowed over 19 yards per completion and four touchdown passes. Ball St is 0-1 with the 59-19 road loss at Tennessee. Cardinals lost half their starters and had to replace a good quarterback in Drew Plitt.
John Paddock completed 27 of 43 passes for 269 yards with a touchdown and two picks. They had trouble running on the Volunteers with 74 yards on 27 carries.
Broncos lack of experience on offense a concern. Ball St has experienced on their offensive line and did not give up a sack last week. Play Ball St +6.5.
Marshall vs. Notre Dame College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Marshall at Notre Dame—Marshall opened with FCS Norfolk St and came away with the 55-3 home win. Thundering Herd return five starters on offense with six to the defense. Texas Tech transfer Henry Colombi was able to put up good numbers against his FCS opponents hitting on 24 of 26 for 205 yards with a touchdown and pick.
Six starters return on defense and they held Norfolk St to just 114 yards total. Returning if their top running back and some talent at the receiver position. Thundering Herd is inexperienced in their secondary position. Notre Dame comes off the 21-10 road defeat at Ohio St in their opener.
The Fighting Irish were held to only 253 yards. The run game was a major disappointment compared to past teams as Notre Dame rushed for only 76 yards on 30 carries. Quarterback Tyler Buchner hit on 10 of 18 passes for 177 yards.
Thundering Herd were a good road team last year. They had a one point loss at Appalachian St. Blowout wins at North Texas, FAU and Charlotte.
Although a huge step up from these teams this is a program that can stay within three touchdowns of a Notre Dame team looking like a downgrade from previous seasons. Play Marshall +20.5.
Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Tennessee at Pittsburgh—Tennessee opened their season at home to Ball St with the 59-10 win. Vols pushed around their MAC opponent for 569 yards running for 218. Quarterback Hendon Hooker hit on 18 of 25 for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
This is an experienced team with eight on offense and seven to the defense. Vols struggled on defense in 2021 sitting 97th in scoring defense and 106th on third down. Teams threw for 284 yards on the Volunteer defense. Pittsburgh moved to 1-0 with their 38-31 home win to an improved West Virginia team.
Panthers moved the football for 384 yards but only 76 rushing. Kedon Slovis completed 16 of 24 for 308 yards and a touchdown. Not willing to lay a touchdown with a Vols team struggling as much as they did on the defensive side of the football last year. Play Pittsburgh +7.
Appalachian St vs. Texas A&M College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Appalachian St at Texas A&M—Appalachian St fell to 0-1 with their 63-61 home defeat to North Carolina. They overcame a 20 point fourth quarter deficit to tie the game at 49-49 late. A missed two point conversion in the final seconds cost the Mountaineers a shot at overtime despite scoring 40 fourth quarter points.
App St put up 649 yards running for 288 yards. Defense gave up 567 yards to the Tar Heels with 352 passing and 215 on the ground. Duke transfer quarterback Chase Brice hit on 25 of 26 for 361 yards and six touchdowns. Texas A&M opened with FCS Sam Houston St and wins 31-0.
Hayden King hit on 20 of 31 for 364 yards with three touchdowns and two picks. Defense shined in the win allowing 198 yards. Aggies return five starters on offense with five to the defense.
App St was held to 23 at Miami, 13 and 16 at Louisiana in their two road meetings. Would lean to the Aggies defense but not comfortable in their offense yet to cover. Play Appalachian St and Texas A&M under 55.5.
Colorado vs. Air Force College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Colorado at Air Force—Colorado comes off the 38-13 home defeat to TCU. Buffaloes get outscored 31-7 in the second half. The offense showed a pulse with 348 yards but the run game sputtered. Brendan Lewis completed 13 of 18 passes for 78 yards.
J.T. Shrout saw time and went 13 of 23 for 157 yards and a touchdown. Buffaloes surrendered 275 yards rushing to the Horned Frogs in defeat as they averaged nearly nine yards a carry. Air Force opened up with FCS Northern Iowa and win 48-17.
As expected the crushed the Golden Panthers on the ground with their Triple Option for 582 yards on 62 carries. Haaziq Daniels attempted only six passes but completed three for 109 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Falcons return eight starters on offense with seven to the defense from a 10-3 team last year. They did beat a lot of down programs with high profile games resulting in losses to San Diego St, Army and Utah St. They did go into a down Boise St team and win 24-17.
Daniels is not afraid to throw the football. Air Force did give up chunks of yards in the passing game. Play Colorado and Air Force over 45.
