Suarez racked up 18 called strikes on the pitch while pitching with his powerful sinker for most of the evening.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, he made his worst error when he left an 84 mph changeup over the middle of the plate, which Jorge Soler blasted out of the park. After a meltdown in his first appearance of the season, he still has an awful 5.89 ERA and 1.96 WHIP with a chance to improve.

The Phillies are putting up impressive numbers at the plate to open the season, with the fourth-best batting average and 15 home runs. Kyle Scharber’s four home runs gave them the third-best slugging percentage in the league.
