Keuchel saw his strikeout rate drop to 13.2% and 8.2% walk rate. His home runs jumped to 1.39 per 9 innings. Cleveland goes with Shane Bieber. Great past three season for the righthander with an ERA of 3.28 and WHIP 1.11 in this period. His strikeout rate has ben over 30% in those three seasons and limited home runs.
Two starts all on the road this year with Bieber allowing three earned runs over ten innings. White Sox have won six of eight. Guardians come off dropping all three at home to San Francisco held to four runs total. White Sox hit .196 against righty’s and Guardians .218 against lefty’s. Play Chicago and Cleveland under eight.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Washington Nationals MLB Pick Prediction 4/18/2022
Diamondbacks at Nationals—Madison Bumgarner the starter for the Diamondbacks. The veteran has had a rough two seasons with the Diamondbacks with low strikeout numbers and high home run per nine inning rate. Two starts all at home for Bumgarner and he has allowed two earned runs with six walks over eight innings.
Josiah Gray the starter for Washington Gray had a rough first year in the Major splitting time with the Dodgers and Nationals finishing with an ERA of 5.48 and WHIP 1.36. He was crushed by the home run rate of 2.42 per nine innings as struggled to get ahead of counts with his secondary pitches.
Diamondbacks have lost six of eight and Nats lost three of four at Pittsburgh. Diamondbacks hitting only .151 as a team. Arizona has played to seven of nine under. Play Washington and Arizona under 8.5.

A respectable 26.1% strikeout rate but was hurt by a 1.91 home run per nine innings. Megill in two starts allowed no earned runs with eleven strikeouts in 10 1/3rd innings. Rays at Cubs—Shane McClanahan to start for the Rays. The righthander in 25 starts in 2021 finished with an ERA of 3.43 and WHIP 1.27. Great strikeout rate of 27.3% and limited home runs. Two starts on the season and the McClanahan allowed three earned runs with fifteen strikeouts in 9 innings.
Kyle Hendricks the starter for the Cubs. The veteran suffered through a down season in 2021 with an ERA of 4.77 and WHIP 1.35. His strikeout rate fell to 16.7% and home runs soared up to 1.54 per nine innings. Rays broke a four game losing streak after their 9-3 win at the White Sox. The Cubs return home splitting a six game road trip at the Pirates and Rockies. Play Tampa Bay -138.

Phillies at Rockies—Aaron Nola the starter for the Phillies. In 32 starts in 2021 the veteran had an ERA of 4.63 and WHIP 1.13. Strikeout rate fell to 29.8% but still very good but saw a bit of a rise on 1.30 home runs per nine innings. Two starts in 2022 and Nola allowed seven earned runs in 9 1/3rd innings.
Chad Kuhl to throw for the Rockies. Kuhl was picked up on the cheap after the Pirate released him. The righthander finished with an ERA of 4.82 and WHIP 1.43 in 14 starts and 14 out of the bullpen. Walk rate in double digits past two seasons with high home run per nine innings rate. Kuhl faced the Rangers to open the year allowing one earned run with four walks over 4 1/3rd innings.

Very high strikeout rate in the minors. In his first Major League start the lefty allowed five earned runs with twelve baserunners in four innings against Cleveland.
Sean Manaea to throw for the Padres. The veteran posted an ERA of 3.91 and WHIP 1.23 in 32 starts for the Athletics in 2021. His strikeout rate soared up to 25.7% and allowed 1.25 home runs per nine innings. In two starts for the Padres the lefty allowed two earned runs over thirteen innings posting a WHIP of 0.54.
Reds have lost six straight and eight of nine overall. Padres did split a four game series with the Braves. Cincinnati hitting only .179 with struggles in the pen. Play San Diego -165.
