Winnipeg at Buffalo NHL Pick Prediction 3/30/2022
Sabres (H): Coming off an incredible rally, Buffalo won for the first time since 1988 when once trailing by four goals in a game.
Of course, they defeated Chicago, the league’s worst team at holding a lead — didn’t you see Saturday’s national TV game when they also blew a 3-0, third-period cushion disappear at Vegas?
For a young squad, a historical victory could put this club on a winning streak — and it’s not like they aren’t winning of late.
Buffalo has now earned points in sixth straight contests, going 4-0-2 SU (6-0 ATS) in L6. In the L9, the Sabres are 6-1-2 SU (8-1 ATS).
Much of those wins were on the road as they now open a 4-0game homestand against Winnipeg. Wow!
Jets (V): These Monsters of the Canadian Midway are building momentum, going 6-2 SU/ATS in L8.
Why? The numbers are obvious:
Centre Mark Scheifele has points in 9-of-11 games.
Right wing Blake Wheeler is even better, with points in 12-of-14 contests. On the flip side, the Jets are 5-17-2 SU (5-19 ATS) when he fails to register a point.
It’s this veteran leadership which keeps the Jets in playoff contention. When he doesn’t score, it’s 3-15-3 SU (3-18 ATS).
This is why Scheifele and Wheeler make good choices in the props market to parlay with the side (where available).
Prediction: Both offenses are playing at B-plus mode and the Jets will run with the Sabres because they can counter-punch with the nest in the National League. And since the Jets will be the favorite on the road, there is better value on the… OVER.
Los Angeles at Edmonton NHL Pick Prediction 3/30/2022
Kings: When Los Angeles lost three of their top four defensemen to start the season — including all-star Drew Doughty, who was re-injured over the weekend — plenty of youngsters were called up from Ontario AHL), which had the best power play in the minors.
Now, the L.A. power play is suring, and with it, the team’s rise in the standings.
The newest to join the home club is Austin Strand and Jordan Spence.
It’s been almost a seamless transition. And up-and-down veteran Troy Stecher has played with many of these newer players, like Jacob Moverare.
Now that L.A. has surpassed Edmonton for second placed, now it there time to prove man-to-man, especially after the Oilers blew their chance over the weekend to Calgary.
Speaking of which, what happened in L.A. 6-1 loss to Seattle (we gave you the Over in that one!), ending a 4-2-1 SU streak.
Oilers: What happened in their 9-5 pounding from the Flames.
After winning five straight against the bottom of the Eastern Conference, Edmonton IS 2-2-1 su (2-3 ats) and not looking all that impressive.
Another problem the schedule. If they do something on this brief homestand, then they play 6-of-7 on the road, with the home game coming against Colorado.
That makes this one vs. L.A. that much more important, but since L.A. has picked up the scoring of late, could another 9-5-ish game be in the offering.
Prediction: We’ll give Los Angeles a pass as far as the second straight game against the Kraken. Their form is so much better than Edmonton’s right now, so we’ll go against the computer nerds and take the KINGS at plus-money.
NY Rangers at Detroit NHL Pick Prediction 3/30/2022
Rangers: It’s not just New York’s win streak, it’s not just the quality of opponents of late, it’s the combination of both which has all NYR season ticket holders filling all of the seats at MSG.
The Rangers are on a 5-1 SU/ATS roll, defeating Tampa Bay, Carolina, and now a pair against Pittsburgh. Impressive.
Thus, this game in Detroit is the perfect lew-down, look-ahead situation before hosting the Islanders.
One lone problem area, NYR could be caught on the neutral zone trap because the right wingers are weak but a general lack of scoring from all five on the roster.
Red Wings: Go back three days and read why I clearly stated that Pittsburgh would “blow out” Detroit. Well, an 11-2 final sounds like my Play off the Year (if I offered one).
Now, what do the Red Wings do after yielding 11, 10, 9, 8, and 7 (five times) in a forgettable season of poor defense, now ranking dead last in goals against — even below Seattle and Ottawa!
Prediction: I may not be into analytics as much as other, but I’m not stupid. Take the… OVER. However, be ware, this might be the first 6.5 Total of the season for the Rangers, so you might want to consider buying a half-point.

Vegas at Seattle NHL Pick Prediction 3/30/2022
Golden Knights Who would’ve thought, at current form, the higher-scoring team would be the Seattle Kraken over Vegas.
We told you the exact game plan for Seattle to bounce back and take Game 2 in a series with Los Angeles, and the blueprint should be similar ro topple the VGK.
Seattle needed 37 games to win its first 10 games, 28 to take the second 10… could they reach 30 with 10 wins in their final 17 games. This could be one because..
Golden Knights: … because Vegas knows they are out of the playoff hunt.
Sure, they remain two points ahead of Dallas, Winnipeg and others, but all of the other clubs have upwards of four games in-hand. That is way too many to play catch-up, despite holding one of the easiest schedules to cap the season in the NHL.
For example, Dallas only needed to go 1-2-1 in ots extra games to take over the second wild card position in the Western Conference over Vegas. Same with Winnipeg.
Because of salary cap issues, VGK management doesn’t mind traded talent to fill a need. But the one mistake may have been fan favorite William (Wild Bill” Karlsson. He scored 44 goals in the expansion season, but has been a 20-25 scorer in the ensuing four season — it seems they traded away the wrong player.
Prediction: Despite Vegas’ come-from-behind victory from 3-0 down to shock Chicago on national television, the Knights inconsistent play is to the level of, well,… the KRAKEN.
San Jose at Arizona NHL Pick Prediction 3/30/2022
Sharks: San Jose just over-took Anaheim for sixth place in the Pacific Division, winning for the third time in four starts.
At least the Sharks are still working hard. Besides wins against other bottom-feeders, they won on the road at first-place Calgary — ehy Flames! What was that?!
Making an impact is 36-year old defenseman Brent Burns, who is badly slowing down in what could be his last season — if not in San Jose but in the entire league — Burns might have been a Norris Trophy winner in 2017, but he isn’t an all-star like Zdeno Chara. Burns has just two goals in his last 34 contests.
His replacement in 2023 should be Ryan Merkley, who is learning under Burns’ wing.
Coyotes: Arizona wishes they could’ve stay in the weak Pacific Division, where they could’ve competed for a playoff berth. But those extra games against the entail kept them out of the wild card hunt. Still, last in the conference is last in the conference, even embarrassingly under an expansion club.
What is happening in Anaheim — a massive trade-off of talent and a 9-game losing streak 00 is what happened to Arizona to open the season. Talent vacated the desert and the kids are playing like kids.
