Minnesota fans would press a button or have their minds wiped as in Men in Black to forget about the 2021 MLB season. The Twins had a dreadful season, finishing last in the AL Central and losing all of the momenta they built up during the previous two seasons.

In 2021, Twins standout Byron Buxton appeared in only 61 matches due to a hip ailment and a fractured hand that kept him out for most of the season. Nonetheless, his .306 average in 2021 won him a $100 million contract extension when he signed a seven-year agreement.

Before the lockout, Minnesota realized they were critically understaffed in their starting rotation, so Dylan Bundy was given another opportunity. Bundy surprised everyone by pitching well for the Angels in 2020, going 6-3 with a 3.29 ERA, but he was back to his old ways in 2021, going 2-9 with a 6.06 ERA. Bundy adds a senior presence to an otherwise inexperienced pitching staff, but that’s about it. Bundy isn’t expected to have a great season.
