The previous 12 days were the most depressing aspect of No. 21 Providence’s season so far, as the Friars were sidelined due to COVID-19. They are quite successful on the court throughout the 2021-22 season, losing only two of their 16 games.

The only losses for Providence came against Virginia in November and Marquette earlier this month. Texas Tech, Wisconsin, then-No. 20 Connecticut, and then-No. 15 Seton Hall were all defeated by the Friars.

On Jan. 8, they defeated St. John’s 83-73 in their most recent game. They are ranked No. 65 in adjusted efficiency heading into this match.

Their shooting stats are not terrific either, with a field goal percentage of 192nd. On that end of the floor, Providence improved by taking care of the ball and getting offensive rebounds. They’ll be up against a Georgetown defense ranked 202nd in adjusted efficiency. Nate Watson, the Providence Center, tops the team with 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

They’re one of the most inexperienced squads in college basketball, so they’re a risky pick away from home.

This year, Georgetown battled with turnovers, and it only gets worse on the road. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Friars had an outstanding campaign. They don’t win matches based on hot shooting, thus the 12-day gap between games doesn’t bother me. The #21 Providence Friars will win to a predicted score of 80-66.
