Toledo Rockets vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish Predictions 9/11/2021

 

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish is among the top four teams in the Independents (FBS) Conference with a 1-0 overall standings this season. Notre Dame won their first tour away from home but the Fighting Irish needed extra time in beating the Florida State Seminoles at 41-38 on Sunday. Notre Dame took the lead along the way at 38-20 but failed to hold on and was scoreless in the final quarter that pushed for overtime after the Seminoles tied the score at 38-all. However, the Fighting Irish prevailed after scoring three points while putting the offense of Florida State on check in the victory. Notre Dame dominated the passing offense for 366 yards but failed to control the running game of the Seminoles and allowed them to rush for 264 yards resulting in a three-point victory in overtime.

 

QB Jack Coan controlled the passing offense for the Fighting Irish after connecting 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 366 yards and nailed 4 touchdowns but intercepted once in the winning effort. RB Kyren Williams rushed for 42 yards with 19 carries while RB Chris Tyree added one touchdown rushing for 31 yards. TE Michael Mayer led the receiving squad with 9 receptions for 120 yards and landed one touchdown in the victory. LB JD Bertrand stopped the ball with 11 total tackles while DL Isaiah Foskey added 2 sacks with 5 solo and 3 assisted tackles in controlling the backfield for Notre Dame.
