His backups are Justin Fields and Nick Foles. The backup job is up for grabs in Chicago. Fields mobility does allow the potential to extend drives with his feet. The Dolphins quarterback rotation is Tua Tagovailoa, Jacoby Brissett and Reid Sinnett who is an undrafted free agent from San Diego. Play Chicago -3.5.
Denver Broncos vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick Prediction 8/14/2021
Broncos at Vikings—NFL free pick is Minnesota Vikings +2.5. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer coaches winning in the preseason. They have won 16 of 21 and covered fourteen of those games. There is a handful in the Vikings quarterback rotation in Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond, Jake Browning, Nate Stanley, and Danny Etling. The Broncos quarterback rotation is Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater and Brett Rypien. Under Fangio the Broncos have lost and failed to cover three of five in the preseason. Zimmer wants to turn around his defense. He does have a good home crowd that supports his defense and have been waiting two years to cheer them. Play Minnesota +2.5.
New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens Pick Prediction 8/14/2021
Free pick is Baltimore Ravens -2.5. Head coach John Harbaugh have won seventeen straight preseason games covering sixteen of those games. Under center is Lamar Jackson, Trace McSorley, Tyler Huntley. Harbaugh gets good play from his defense in the preseason. The Drew Breese era is over in New Orleans following his retirement. QB rotation is Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill, Ian Book and Trevor Siemian. Hill will have trouble running on his Ravens defense even in the preseason so head coach Sean Payton would been wise to keep Hill in the pocket. Past five preseasons Saints have lost 13 of 20 failing to cover thirteen of those games with a push. Play Baltimore -2.5.

Browns at Jaguars—NFL pick is Jacksonville Jaguars -2.5. Much anticipated debut for head coach Urban Meyer and his first round pick in Trevor Lawrence. Meyer’s rotation at quarterback is Trevor Lawrence, Gardner Minshew, C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton. Minshew was last year’s starter and Beathard has NFL playing experience. For Cleveland the rotation is Baker Mayfield, Case Keenum and Kyle Lauletta. Don’t expect to see much of Mayfield or even Keenum. Lauletta figures to get a long look in the second half. This if the free preseason for both teams. Meyer would be motivated to get a win here for the home folks in his first home game which is a good angle in preseason. Play Jacksonville -2.5.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pick Prediction 8/14/2021
Bengals at Buccaneers—NFL free pick is Cincinnati Bengals +6. Not comfortable laying these many points with Tampa Bay. Buccaneers quarterback rotation includes Tom Brady, Blaine Gabbert, Kyle Trask, Ryan Griffin. Brady doesn’t figure to go deep in this one. Cincinnati rotation is Joe Burrow, Brandon Allen, Kyle Shurmur and Eric Dungey. Burrow a second year starter will not see action in the preseason opener. Bucs return all 22 starters so there are not starting jobs to win for the backups. Bengals are a high volume passing team under head coach Zac Taylor and prefer taking the points here. Play Cincinnati +6.
New York Jets vs. New York Giants Pick Prediction 8/14/2021
Jets at Giants—Free pick is New York Giants +2. Jets quarterback rotation is Zach Wilson, Mike White, James Morgan and Josh Johnson. Wilson has had struggles in camp. His backups are weak. Giants rotation include Daniel Jones, Mike Glennon, Clayton Thorson. Glennon has NFL starting experience. Underdog has covered the past four in this preseason rivalry. Some starters will play for the Giants. Jets are a young team with over half their players playing in their first preseason game. Play Giants +2.

Texans at Packers—NFL pick is Houston Texans +3. Prefer the Texans quarterback rotation here in Tyrod Taylor, Jeff Driskel, Davis Mills and Deshaun Watson. There is enough NFL experience. On the Green Bay side it is Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love and Kurt Benker. Rodgers doesn’t figure to play in the preseason so there is no experience in Love and Benker under center. Jobs are up for grabs in the backup spot in Houston behind Taylor. Play Houston +3.

Lance the first round pick figures to get a look here. In the second half both Josh Rosen and Nate Sudfeld have experience. KC rotation is Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne, Anthony Gordon, Shane Buechele. Gordon and Buechele in the second half not desirable here. Andy Reid a .500 spread record in the preseason in his tenure with Kansas City. Jimmy Garoppolo will start in the preseason opener for San Francisco. Play 49ers -2.5.

Smith has been a disappointment in the NFL and Mannion hasn’t been able to get close to starting in the league.
