Minnesota Twins vs St Louis Cardinals Predictions 7/31/2021

The St. Louis Cardinals won Game 1 of a short two-game series versus the Cleveland Indians at 4-2 on Tuesday but lost the last match at 2-7 on Wednesday. However, St. Louis made a quick rebound after a 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins in the opening of a weekend series on Friday. The Cardinals scored three runs in the 6th frame to earn the lead at 4-1 and completed their triumph with a one-run score in the 7th innings. Starting Pitcher Wade LeBlanc earned the win with one earned run on six hits allowed while awarding two free bases but struck out three Minnesota batters in 5.2 innings pitched. First Baseman Paul Goldschmidt and Left Fielder Tyler O’Neill led the offense with two runs each in the victory.

Righty Jake Woodford will get a nod from St. Louis to take his post on the bump to start the second installment of a weekend showdown versus the Twins on Saturday. In his pro baseball stint this season, the right-handed starter is 2-2 with a 4.25 ERA while striking out 29 batters and awarded 16 free bases in the majors. Woodford will have his second career start against Minnesota this year.

Minnesota Twins vs. St. Louis Cardinals. The MLB Pick for this contest is St. Louis -115. This will be a showdown on the mound between two young pitchers. Baily Ober might lack the experience but is still a tough pitcher while Jake Woodruff can be shaky in his young pitching age but he’s been solid in his last two starts with only four runs allowed in 10.2 total innings pitched. However, the Twins have difficulty in completing their games while the Cardinals have the advantage of playing at their home field on Saturday. The Predicted score, St. Louis Cardinals will win at 4-2.
