Western Michigan at Central Michigan—College football pick is Central Michigan Chippewas -1.5. Chippewas are 2-0 with wins against Northern Illinois and Ohio. Head coach Jim McElwain has turned around this program taking it from a one win team two years ago to eight wins and a bowl in 2019. They have a good balanced offense and a strong defense. Chippewas are holding opponents to 294 yards per game with only 2.7 per rush attempt. Concern for Western Michigan is the 501 yards allowed to Toledo with 339 yards in the passing game. In his second game Chippewas quarterback Daniel Richardson completed 68% of his throws against Northern Illinois with 10.3 yards per attempt. Take the better defense here. Play Central Michigan -1.5.
Northern Illinois vs. Ball St Pick Prediction 11/18/2020
Northern Illinois at Ball St—College football free pick is Northern Illinois and Ball St to play over the total of 61 points. Ball St Cardinals are a good offensive team posting 507 yards per game. They have played over the total in both of their games. Cardinals are effectively running the football for 236 yards per game with 5.3 per attempt. Toledo vs. Eastern Michigan Pick Prediction 11/18/2020
Toledo at Eastern Michigan—Free pick is Eastern Michigan Eagles +6.5. Never comfortable giving Eastern Michigan over a field since their bowl berth four years ago. They have close losses to two good offensive teams in the MAC in Kent ST and Ball St on the road but still covered each game. This will be their home opener. Eagles quarterback Preston Hutchison is completing 7.7 yards per attempted pass and showed improvement with downfield throws in his second game. Toledo blew out a down Bowling Green team then needed a late onside kick recovery to get past Western Michigan by three last week surrendering 38 points. Rockets defense is allowing 4.9 yards per rush attempt this season. Eagles defense has been good on third down and red zone. Play Eastern Michigan +6.5.
Iowa vs. Penn St Pick Prediction 11/21/2020
Iowa at Penn St—College football pick is Iowa Hawkeyes -2.5. Tough to back Penn St as the team has lost and failed to cover all four games. Past two losses came to Maryland by 16 at home and Nebraska on the road by seven. Nittany Lions are only running for 3.8 yards per carry. Quarterback play has been poor. Sean Clifford has not been accurate. They looked to sophomore Will Levis last week and he completed only 45% of his throws. Iowa has put back to back blowout wins beating Michigan St 49-7 the went on the road and pounded Minnesota 35-7. In their other road game, the Hawkeyes were able to move the ball for 460 yards on Purdue. Iowa run game has been good with an average of 183 yards and 5.4 per rush. Hawkeyes defense still good as the team is holding opponents to 314 yards and only 2.8 yards per rush. Opposing quarterbacks completing only 54% of their passes for 5.4 per attempt. Play Iowa -2.5.
Middle Tennessee St vs. Troy Pick Prediction 11/21/2020
Middle Tennessee St at Troy—College football free pick is Troy Trojans -11. This is a rematch of an earlier meeting from mid-September. Troy had their way with Middle Tennessee St winning 47-14 on the road behind 496 yards. It was a balanced attack as the Trojans rushed for 240 yards while on defense holding the Blue Raiders to 231 yards. Longhorns showed they can beat a bad team blowing out UTEP 59-3 in their opener. Texas does come off the bye week. Against the Big 12 the Jayhawks are allowing an average of 50 points and 493 yards per game. Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger can to exploit this bad Kansas defense for big plays. Respect the Bearcats defense as they have shut down the good offensive teams from the AAC holding Memphis to 10 points, Houston to 10 and SMU to 13 points in blowout wins.
