Buccaneers at Saints—NFL pick is New Orleans Saints -3.5. There has been a lot of stability on this Saints coaching staff so lack of preseason should not be a huge impact. This is a team that finished 13-3 the past two seasons. Drew Brees who hardly played in the preseason anyway, threw for 27 touchdowns and four picks. They did finish in the top half of the league in total defense. Brees throws against the 30th ranked pass defense from last season. Tom Brady moves to Tampa Bay in the offseason and has a new set of coaches and teammates. Tough spot with no in game action prior to Week 1. Tom Brady is not as mobile as in previous seasons. Bucs offensive line surrendered 47 sacks. Tough for the Buccaneers to keep up with the scoring by the Saints. Play New Orleans -3.5.
Dallas Cowboys vs. LA Rams Pick Prediction 9/13/2020
Cowboys at Rams—NFL free pick is Dallas Cowboys -2.5. Rams change defensive coordinators and have been drained of talent on that side of the football. LA running game sputtered last year and the offense fell to 11th in scoring. Jared Goff is a quarterback that needs help from his running game. He doesn’t handle pressure well. Rams fell to 19th against the run in 2019 and the Cowboys have an elite back. Cowboys made a positive move to head coach Mike McCarthy. Dak Prescott has good weapons in the passing game in Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. They were the top offense in the league last year. With the Rams offense showing decline would rather take Cowboys. Play Dallas -2.5.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Giants Pick Prediction 9/14/2020
Steelers at Giants—Free pick is Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants to play under the total of 46 points. Steelers got great performance from their defense going 8-8 losing Ben Roethlisberger to injury for most of the season. Steelers fifth in total defense and their 54 sacks was the best. First year head coach in Joe Judge for the Giants. Tough with no preseason for in game experience. David Jones at quarterback is young and returns for his second season. He will have to deal with the Pittsburgh pass rush so expect a conservative quick release and short yardage throws. Giants will also lean to Saquon Barkley on the ground which runs clock. Giants offense struggles here. Play New York Giants and Steelers under 46.
Tennessee Titans vs. Denver Broncos Pick Prediction 9/13/2020
Titans at Broncos—NFL pick is Tennessee Titans -2. Tennessee was a good road team last year winning seven of eleven when you include the playoffs. Ryan Tannehill effectively ran the offense when he replaced Mariota with 22 touchdowns and 4 picks. Running back Derrick Henry ran for 5.1 yards per carry. Denver loses linebacker Von Miller for the season and the team could not find a replacement. Drew Lock an inexperienced quarterback could have used preseason. Passing attack ranked 28th last year and were worst in the league on third down. We also saw some regression from the Broncos defense last year falling to bottom half against the run. Broncos picked up Melvin Gordon at running back but his yards per carry average has not been good. Play Titans -2.
