They limited the Red Wolves to just over two yards per run with 166 passing yards on 41 attempts. Seth Henigan is in his third season as starting quarterback. He completed 72.4% of his throws in the win for 239 yards with 8.2 yards per attempt. He had two touchdown throws and a rushing touchdown. Memphis had a +4 turnover margin. James Madison at Troy 7PM ET—James Madison improved to 2-0 after their 36-35 road win at Virginia. Dukes rushed for 4.5 yards per attempt with 228 passing on 32 attempts. They stuffed the Cavaliers run game for less than two yards a carry but allowed 377 yards passing on 26 attempts. Senior quarterback Jordan McCloud completed 20 of 31 for 224 yards with 7.2 yards per attempt. He had a game winning touchdown pass with 55 seconds left and 32 rushing yards. Troy is fell to 1-1 with their 42-13 road defeat to Kansas St. Trojans run game stalled with less than three yards per rush. They did hold the Wildcats to just under four yards per rush but 250 passing on 32 attempts. Senior quarterback Gunnar Watson completed just 53.1% in the loss with 5.2 yards per attempt. He had a touchdown and interception. Dukes were able to move the football to an ACC team in Virginia in a road spot. They are effectively running this year. JMU has been strong defending the run. San Jose St at Toledo 7PM ET—San Jose St is 1-2 after their 59-3 home victory to Cal Poly. They opened with a 28-point road loss at USC and a home loss 42-17 to Oregon St. Senior quarterback Chevan Cordeiro in those losses completed 56% with three touchdowns but only 4.9 yards per attempt. Spartans are experienced offensively but had only five starters return to the defense. USC piled 501 yards on the San Jose St defense and Oregon St had 473. Toledo is 1-1 after their 71-3 home victory to FCS Texas Southern. Rockets opened the year with the 30-28 road defeat in Illinois. Rockies piled up 186 rushing yards on the Rockies on 42 attempts. They did allow 4.5 yards per run to the Fighting Illini with 211 passing on 26 attempts. Quarterback Dequan Finn is in his third starting season. He completed 55.6% on Illinois for 230 yards with 6.4 yards per attempt. He finished with two touchdowns and an interception. Rockets 25-9 to the over at home facing no travel. Looks like both offenses will exploit their opposing defenses. Play San Jose St and Toledo over 58.
North Texas vs. Louisiana Tech College Betting Football Pick Prediction 9/16/2023
North Texas at Louisiana Tech 7PM ET—North Texas is 0-2 on the season after their 46-39 road defeat to FIU. Mean Green moved the football for 548 yards with 251 rushing on 44 attempts. But they surrendered 514 yards to FIU with 291 passing on 32 attempts. North Texas allowed 223 rushing on 35 carries. Chandler Rogers relieved and hit 11 of 15 for 201 yards with 13.4 yards per attempt. He had two touchdown throws. The UL Monroe transfer could start. Louisiana Tech improved to 2-1 with their 51-21 home victory to FCS Northwestern ST. Bulldogs have a win by five to FIU at home and dropped a 24 point decision at SMU. Boise St transfer Hank Bachmeier is completing 67.4% of his passes on the year with 7.2 yards per attempt. Mean Green is 133rd in the nation in total defense by allowing 592 yards a game. Rogers looked good in relief of Earle under center for the Mean Green. Bulldogs are inexperienced defensively and allow 4.7 yards per rush. Louisiana Tech is 10-2 to the over at home. On the year he has thrown four interceptions and averaging 6.5 yards per attempt. Tough to back Sims to lay double digits with the Cornhuskers. Northern Illinois is playing well defensively.
