Quarterback Taisun Phommachanh missed the game due to an undisclosed injury and is questionable for this game. Western Carolina transfer Carlos Davis got the start and was effective completing 69% of his throws with 244 yards and 7.6 yards per attempt and three touchdowns. Eastern Michigan fell to 1-1 with their 25-6 road defeat at Minnesota. Poor offensive performance for the Eagles gaining only 152 yards with four yards per rush. Run defense failed Eastern Michigan as Minnesota rushed for 296 yards on 56 carries. Quarterback Austin Smith was 9 of 20 for 71 yards and a pick with 3.6 yards per attempt. Long term Eastern Michigan has not been a good home favorite at 14-29 with a -18 unit loss. Like the offensive performance with the Minutemen with the quarterback change. Central Michigan vs. Notre Dame College Betting Football Pick Prediction 9/16/2023
Central Michigan at Notre Dame 2:30PM ET—Central Michigan improved to 1-1 after their 45-42 home victory to FCS New Hampshire. They opened the season with a 31-7 road defeat at Michigan St. Chippewas offense produced only 219 yards with three yards per rush. Defensively they held the Spartans to four yards a carry and allowed 279 passing yards in 33 attempts. Emmanuel completed only 7 of 19 against his FCS opponent but made big players with 10.2 yards per attempt. He threw two touchdowns and two interceptions. Notre Dame is 3-0 with their 45-24 road win at NC State. Fighting Irish up seven after three quarters, scored the first 21 points of the fourth quarter to close out the game strong. The team put up 456 offensive yards with four yards per carry. They limited NC State to under three yards per run with 260 passing on 48 attempts. Sam Hartman has a Heisman profile. In this road win he hit 62.5% of his passes, 286 yards, four touchdowns and 11.9 yards per attempt. Central Michigan is inexperienced on the offensive end. Chippewas are allowing 472 yards per game. They are 116th in the nation in yards per play and Notre Dame sixth defensively at 3.5 yards allowed per play. Fighting Irisha averaging 8 yards per play which is eighth in the nation. San Diego St at Oregon St 3:30PM ET—San Diego St fell to 2-1 with their 35-10 home defeat to UCLA. Aztecs offense produced only 259 yards. Their round game produced less than two yards a carry. San Diego St defense was torched allowing 550 yards with 254 rushing on 39 carries. They couldn’t stop the pass either as the Bruins threw for 296 yards on 29 attempts. Quarterback Jalen Mayden a poor game hitting on 19 of 37 with a touchdown and three interceptions. He passed for only 5.3 yards per attempt. Oregon St is 2-0 after their 55-7 home victory to FCS UC Davis. Beavers opened the year defeating San Jose St on the road 42-17. Beavers put up 473 yards with 5.5 yards per run on 197 yards. Clemson transfter DJ Uiagalelei completed 80% of his throws for 239 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 9.6 yards per attempt on the Spartans defense in a road game. The signal caller rushed for three touchdowns. Beavers are 7-0 in their past seven home games. San Diego St has the 116th ranked offense. Beavers are allowing 2 yards per run. If the Aztecs can’t run, they can’t cover here. Play Oregon St -23.5.

Northwestern at Duke 3:30PM ET—Northwestern improved to 1-1 after their 38-7 home victory to UTEP. Wildcats outscored the Miners 31-0 in the second half. They put up 391 yards with over 4.5 yards per rush. Northwestern limited UTEP to three yards per rush with 215 passing on 30 attempts. Ben Bryant completed 11 of 17 for 116 yards, a touchdown and 6.8 yards per attempt. Duke is 2-0 after their 42-7 home victory to FCS Lafayette. Blue Devils opened the season at home to Clemson and earned the 28-7 home victory. Duke gained 199 rushing yards on 30 carries in that win against the Tigers. They allowed nearly 5.5 yards per rush to Clemson but only 5 yards per pass attempt. Duke had two turnovers and Clemson three. Duke blocked two field goal attempts. Riley Leonard hit 51.5% of his throws with only 5.3 yards per attempt. But he rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown. Wildcats are inexperienced on offense with only four starters back. Blue Devils returned eighteen starters with ten on offense. Northwestern in their road game was held to seven points at Rutgers in a 17 point defeat. Wildcats rank 122nd in the nation in total offense and average only 5 yards per play. They are giving up 3.5 sacks a game. Blue Devils offense is too good here. Play Duke -19.
Alabama vs. USF College Betting Football Pick Prediction 9/16/2023
Alabama at USF 3:30PM ET—Alabama fell to 1-1 with their 34-24 home defeat to Texas. Crimson Tide were outscored 21-8 in the final quarter. They rushed for only 107 yards on 35 carries. Crimson Tide limited the Longhorns to under three yards per rush. But they surrendered 349 passing yards on 38 attempts. Jalen Milroe completed 51.9% of his throws but for 9.4 yards per attempt. He threw for two touchdowns and two interceptions but only 2.9 yards per rush on fifteen carries. USF is 1-1 after their 38-24 home victory to FCS Florida A&M. They opened the year with the 41-24 home defeat to Western Kentucky. That is nine straight FBS losses. USF ran for 374 yards on 61 carries on the Hilltoppers. They allowed over five yards per rush to Western Kentucky by 336 passing yards on 50 attempts. Bulls had a -3-turnover margin. Byrum Brown completed just 44.1% in defeat with 4.9 yards per run. He had a touchdown and two interceptions but did rush for 160 yards and two touchdowns for 6.4 yards per attempt. USF is an inexperienced offensive team with four starters back. Quarterback play weak and Brown will struggle to run against the speed of the Alabama defense. Crimson Tide is 49-30 to the spread on the road after a loss with a +16 unit return. USF is 128th in the nation in pass defense and giving up 7.6 yards per attempt. Play Alabama -31.

They allowed 548 yards to the North Texas offense with 251 rushing on 44 carries. Mean Green did throw for 297 yards on 35 attempts. FIU quarterback Keyone Jenkins hit 20 of 32 for 291 yards with a touchdown and two picks. The freshman quarterback averaged 9.1 yards per pass attempt. UCONN is 0-2 after their 35-14 road defeat to Georgia St. Huskies were down 28-0 after three quarters. Their run game was stalled for under two yards a carry. They surrendered 394 yards to the Panthers with 250 rushing on 45 carries. Huskies allowed 144 passing yards on 26 attempts. Connecticut had a -2 turnover margin. Quarterback Joseph Fagnano completed 44.4% with 6.7 yards per attempt. He left with an injury. Ta’Quan Roberson filled in relief. The Penn St transfer was 19 of 30 for 216 yards with 7.2 yards per attempt. He had two touchdowns and a pick. He recovered from an ACL injury early in the 2022 season. Tulsa played two quarterbacks in his place. Neither quarterback was able to throw downfield effectively. This is an inexperienced Tulsa team with nine starters back. The offense has only four starters back. Brent Venables is a defensive minded coach. He is looking to play less defense with ball control. With the game in hand, he is looking to run the ball and drain clock to preserve his defense. Tulsa will struggle to score, and the Sooners will have a sizable lead and run clock. Bad defensive performance for App St. They allowed 319 rushing yards on 45 carries and 208 through the air on 30 attempts. Joey Aguilar completed only 51.2% of his passes with 6.4 yards per attempt. He threw for 275 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Pirates inexperienced with ten starters back and only four on offense. East Carolina is 128th in the nation in total offense with 127th passing. On defense the Pirates are ranked 109th in yards allowed per play at 6.1. Play Appalachian St -9.5.
