South Dakota Coyotes vs Missouri Tigers 8-31-2023

South Dakota Coyotes vs. Missouri Tigers 8/31/2023 Picks, Predictions and Game Forecast

Coyotes (3-8 Overall record) vs. Tigers (6-7 Last season)

South Dakota Coyotes vs. Missouri Tigers 8/31/2023 – The Coyotes continued their downward spiral in 2017, finishing 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the MVFC. South Dakota never managed to win two straight games, and by the conclusion of the year, they were only two spots above the bottom of the standings. Cal Poly, Southern Illinois, and Missouri State combined for the only three victories. South Dakota begins head coach Bob Nielson’s eighth season with much hope, but it’s unclear whether the club will significantly progress. However, there are some encouraging signs: A sizable portion of last season’s Coyotes roster is back, including starter QB Aiden Bouman.

On the Tigers’ side, they finished second only to Vanderbilt (2-6) in the East Division the previous season with a less-than-stellar 6-7 record, compiling a 3-5 record in SEC play. The team from Missouri had numerous challenging opponents, which stopped them from winning more than two straight contests. In the end, Wake Forest defeated Missouri 27-17 in the Gasparilla Bowl to end Missouri’s season. There is cause for optimism regarding the Tigers’ potential for improvement this season, as the passing game should be improved by adding new offensive coordinator Kirby Moore in front of a talented group of receivers. Despite the absence of top guys Dominic Lovett, Luther Burden, Mookie Cooper, and Theo Wease should still have plenty of work. Coyotes QB Aidan Bouman vs Tigers QB Brady Cook

Aidan Bouman, an extremely tall, corn-fed quarterback from Buffalo, Minnesota, made his start at Iowa State. The lefty transferred to South Dakota after failing to defeat Brock Purdy or Hunter Dekkers. There, he was quickly defeated by Carson Camp, the starting quarterback for the Coyotes. Camp, however, proved to be unproductive, and Bouman, who replaced Camp in the middle of the season, significantly improved on Camp’s output as the Coyotes finished the year with a 2-3 record, including a victory in his inaugural game against top-ranked Southern Illinois.

Brady Cook, who was with the Tigers since 2020, is the Tigers’ starting quarterback this season and was all of last season. Despite having a catastrophic shoulder injury, an offensive line that required significant improvements, and a group of receivers that lacked consistency outside of Dominic Lovett, Cook was still able to contribute as a mid-level starter. It’s easy to predict that Cook will perform better this season.

MLB Odds/Point Spread: Missouri Tigers -14, Total Odds: 42

The passing game’s effectiveness is one concern the Tigers have going into this season, but overall things are looking well. Look for Missouri to get things going right away because the team had a winning record last season when it threw for 224 yards or more (and a losing record when it didn’t). The Tigers should remain an aggressive, pressuring front on defense thanks to players like Darius Robinson and Arizona State transfer Joe Moore. Additionally talented are the linebackers and secondary, which will immediately pay off.
