Kansas City was the top scoring team in the league averaging 29.2 points per game. Team produced the most yardage of any NFL team in 2022 with 413.6 yards per game. Chiefs were solid defensively against the pass limiting opponents to 6.1 yards per attempt and were in the top half of the NFL in getting stops on third down.
Behind Mahomes are Baine Gabbert, Shane Buechele and Chris Oladokun out of South Dakota St. Dennis Allen is in his second year with the Saints. A big free agent acquisition was signing Derek Carr to the four year contract. Improvement need offensively in the pass game but the defense held opponents to 20.3 points a game.
New Orleans defended the pass well but lost their defensive coordinators during the offseason. The backups behind Carr are Jameis Winston and Fresno St rookie Jake Haener. Kansas City starters will play.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Las Vegas Raiders NFL Betting Pick Prediction 8/13/2023
49ers at Raiders—Kyle Shanahan enters his seventh season as the head coach for San Francisco. Team made it of the NFC Championship last year but was eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles. New defensive coordinator Steve Wilks enters the coaching staff. Team was sixth in scoring and best in points allowed in 2022.
The quarterbacks behind starter Purdy are Trey Lance, Sam Darnald and Brandon Allen. Head coach Josh McDaniels is in his second season with the Raiders. Team decided not to sign Derek Carr and he leaves in free agency.
Jimmy Garoppolo will be the Raiders starting quarterback. Las Vegas was led by the sixth rated running attack that averaged 4.8 yards per rush. Defense continues to be the main issue for the Raiders as they struggled getting off the field on third down and defending the pass.
The backups behind Garoppolo are Brian Hoyer, Chase Garbers and rookie Aidan O’Connell out of Purdue. San Francisco will start Trey Lance with Darnold playing in the second half. The teams went through joint practices this week. Several key starters are expected to sit this one out for San Francisco.
Raider also expected to sit key starters as well. There is a battle for the backup position for Las Vegas between veteran Brian Hoyer and fourth round draft pick Aidan O’Connell. The rookie out of Purdue was a very accurate passer in college. Play Las Vegas +4.
