The Florida Panthers will invade Honda Center in Anaheim to meet the Ducks and wrap up their four-game road trip on Sunday.

 

The Panthers are 6-5-1 overall and 6th in Atlantic Division with a 3-4-0 record away from home following a one-point road loss to the Los Angeles Kings at 4-5 on November 5.

 

Florida will try to bounce back after losing two of its four-game road trips this year. The Panthers are averaging 39.9 shots on goal per contest which puts them in the lead in that category in NHL.

 

LW Matthew Tkachuk led the offense of Florida after totaling 17 points on five goals scored and dishing out 12 assists for the season.        

 

Taking the position in between the pipes for the Florida Panthers, Spencer Knights marked a 3-1 record on the season with 10 goals conceded in guarding the net.

 

Knights held a goals-against average record of 2.53 with a save percentage of .899 this year. The 21-year-old goaltender relinquished two goals on 20 attempted shots in his last start.

 

The Panthers have three skaters included on their injured list for the season. LW Anthony Duclair was on injured reserve since October 20 while Defenseman Aaron Ekblad is also on injured reserve status due to a lower-body injury and has resumed skating.

 

RW Patrick Hornqvist is also out for an upper-body injury on November 5.

The Anaheim Ducks are returning home to host the Florida Panthers in this weekend’s edition of NHL Inter-Division duel on ice on Sunday.

 

The Ducks are back from a successful road trip after a shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks at 5-4 on November 5. Anaheim improved its overall record to 4-7-1 but remained down in 7th place in the Pacific Division with a 2-1-0 home record this year.

 

Centers Trevor Zegras, Mason McTavish, and Adam Henrique scored one goal apiece to outscore the Sharks in a shootout competition leading to their 5-4 SO win.      

 

John Gibson will be starting at the pipes for the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night. Gibson marked a 2-6-1 record on the year and has given away 37 goals throughout the campaign.

 

The 29-year-old goalie recorded a goals-against average of 4.58 and tallied a .883 save percentage while stopping a total of 39 shots tried against him but gave up seven goals this season.    

 

Four Skaters of the Ducks were put on injured reserve status from September 21 to October 31 period.

 

Defensemen John Moore and Urho Vaakanainen were on injured reserve status due to an undisclosed injury while Defenseman Jamie Drysdale and Center Sam Carrick were included on injured reserve status last October 31.
