The Scarlet Knights’ attack was limited to 134 yards by the Golden Gophers’ defense.

Minnesota’s top rusher, Mohamed Ibrahim, amassed 159 yards and three touchdowns on just 36 carries. Even though Rutgers came into the game with one of the best run defenses in the nation, Ibrahim was able to continue his record of 16 straight games with at least 100 yards rushing.

Tanner Morgan, the Golden Gopher quarterback, completed 14 of his 21 passes for 122 yards. Daniel Jackson received six of those completions for a total of 51 yards.

Minnesota Golden Gophers vs Nebraska Cornhuskers Predictions 11/5/2022

The Cornhuskers are 2-3 at home and 3-5 overall. They are just 2-6 overall and 1-4 at home against the spread. The nation’s best defense limited the Cornhuskers to only 248 total yards and 60 running yards.

Nebraska allowed the Illini’s Chase Brown to gain 149 rushing yards, 188 total yards, and two touchdowns.

In the second quarter, Nebraska quarterback Casey Thompson hurt his throwing arm. Logan Smothers was used by the Cornhuskers to wrap off the first half, but Chubba Purdy then took over.

Thompson threw two interceptions along with seven completions on 15 attempts for 172 yards and a touchdown.

Smothers’ brief appearance saw him go 1 for 1 yard. In the whole second half, Purdy only attempted eight passes, completing three of them for 15 yards.

  • The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 matches.
  • The total went UNDER in 4 of Nebraska’s last 5 matches.
  • The Cornhuskers are 3-11 SU in their last 14 matches.

Minnesota Golden Gophers vs Nebraska Cornhuskers. The NCAAF pick for this game is the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Both clubs have a 2-3 record versus conference opponents and are tied for third place in the Big Ten West Division with Wisconsin, just behind 3-2 Purdue and 4-1 Illinois.

Northwestern and Iowa complete the 1-3 division. Even on the road, Minnesota is a 12.5-point favorite over Nebraska.

That amount will probably increase if Thompson is unable to participate because the Cornhuskers’ total offense dropped to only 34 yards after he departed the game. He was struck in the elbow, causing numbness in his fingers, according to Nebraska.

Regardless, the Gophers triumph. The Golden Gophers will win to a predicted score of 34-17.
