Dolphins at Ravens—Baltimore running back JK Dobbins unlikely and left tackle Ronnie Stanley doubtful. Both corners questionable for the Ravens. For Miami on offense questionable receiver Wilson and left tackle Armstead. Defensive end Wilkins questionable.
Miami 1-0 after their 20-7 home win to New England Patriots. Dolphins ran for three yards a carry. Tua Taigovailoa 23 of 33 for 270 yards and a touchdown. On defense Miami forced three turnovers and limited New England to only 271 yards 3.5 yards per rush and 193 through the air.
Baltimore 1-0 after their 24-9 win at the Jets. Ravens offense gaine 274 yards in the win running for only 63 on 21 carries. Lamar Jackson went 17 of 30 for 213 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. Defense they allowed 380 yards to NYJ with 83 on the ground.
Baltimore surrendered only 5 yards per pass attempt and 14.3% conversions on third down. Dolphins success in the air last week encouraging especially with the Ravens two corners banged up. Dobbins injury at running back also concerning as is the humidity in Miami for the Ravens. Play Dolphins +3.5.
New York Jets vs. Cleveland Browns NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Jets at Browns—Zach Wilson still out for NYJ with Joe Flacco starting. Left tackle George Fant questionable. On defense questionable are defensive end Myers and safety Whitehead. Browns right tackle Jack Conklin questionable and healthy on defense.
Jets fall to 1-0 after their 24-9 home loss to Baltimore Ravens. Jets held to three points until they got in the end zone with a minute remaining. Joe Flacco 37 of 59 for 309 yards with a touchdown and pick. Defensively they held only 274 yards to Baltimore with 63 rushing on 21 carries.
NY offense miserable on third down with 14.3% conversions and allowed three sacks to their immobile quarterback. Cleveland is 1-0 after their 26-24 road win at Carolina. Browns after allowing a field game with over a minute remaining to fall behind win on a 58 yards field in the closing seconds.
Browns ran effectively with 217 yards on 39 carries. Jacoby Brissett 18 of 34 for 147 yards and a touchdown. Nick Chubb 141 rushing yards. Good defensive performance by the Browns limited the Panthers to 261 yards with 54 rushing and only 4.1 yards per pass attempt. Health advantage for the Brows here.
Cleveland run defense strong out of the gate and that is concerning for a Jets offense with an immobile quarterback needing time especially in play action. Brissett only 4.1 yards per pass attempt. Jets only 14.3% on third down last week. Play NYJ and Cleveland under 39.5.
Washington Commanders vs. Detroit Lions NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Commanders at Lions—Washington healthy on offense with safety Curl questionable plus defensive tackle Allen. Lions running back Swift questionable. On the offensive line their guard questionable and starting center out. On defense a corner questionable.
Washington 1-0 after their 28-22 home win to Jacksonville. Commanders moved the football for 390 yards but struggled on the ground. Carson Wentz 27 of 41 for 313 yards with four touchdowns but two interceptions.
On defense Washington did allow 383 yards to the Jaguars with 6.8 yards per rush and 260 passing for 6.2 yards per attempt. Commanders did a good job on third down and defensively limited the Jaguars to 25% conversions. Lions 0-1 after their 38-35 home defeat to Philadelphia.
Down 38-21 after three quarters the Lions made it close with two unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Detroit ran effectively. Jared Goff going 21 of 37 for 215 yards with two touchdowns and a pick.
Defense was the concern as the Lions allowed 455 yards to the Eagles 216 rushing with 5.5 per rush and 239 through the air for 7.5 yards per pass attempt. Detroit defense the major concern and the Commanders did have success through the air. Play Washington +1.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Colts at Jaguars—Receiver issues for Indianapolis with Pittman out with Pierce out. On defense tackle Buckner and corner Moore questionable with linebacker Leonard out. Jaguars starters and backups healthy. Colts come off a 20-20 tie at Houston. Indy moved the football for 517 yards running for 177 for 4.7 yards per carry.
Quarterback Matt Ryan hit on 32 of 50 for 352 yards with a touchdown and pick. They posted only three points after three quarters and outscored the Texans 17-0 the rest of the way. Kicking issues cost the Colts the win. Indianapolis defensively held the Texans to 299 yards with 77 rushing on 28 carries.
Colts allowed just 2.8 yards a carry and 6 yards per pass attempt. Jaguars fell to 0-1 with their 28-22 road defeat at Washington. Jaguars offense move the football for 383 yards. Trevor Lawrence went 24 of 42 for 275 yards with a touchdown and picks. Up 22-14 early in the fourth the Jaguars allowed the final fourteen points.
Defensively Jaguars allowed 390 yards to the Commanders containing the run well but allowing 305 yards passing with 65.9% completion rate and 7.4 per attempt. Jags were poor getting off the field on third down and on offense conversions only 25%.
Colts offense woke up in the second half but receiver health their concern but it is baked in the number. Indy getting enough from their run game and defense to back here. Play Indianapolis -3.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Buccaneers at Saints—Buccaneers banged up on offense. Running back Fournette questionable. Wide receivers Evans and Jones questionable with Godwin out. Backups Gage and Perriman questionable. On the line left tackle Smith out and right tackle Wirfs questionable. Defense in healthy.
Saints quarterback Winston listed as questionable with a back issue but should play. Running backs Kamara and Ingram questionable. Ingram expected to play and Kamara not. On defense a starting left corner out. Tampa Bay is 1-0 after their 19-3 road win at Dallas.
Bucs defense carries Tampa Bay to victory limiting Dallas 244 yards. Tom Brady hit on 18 of 27 for 212 yards with a touchdown and picks. Pass defense strong for the Buccaneers limited the Cowboys to 4.1 per attempt with four sacks.
Saints come off the 27-26 road win at Atlanta Falcons. This is a rivalry game and the Saints fell behind 26-10 early in the fourth quarter and get outscored 17-0 the rest of the way. The run game produced 151 yards on 19 carries. Jameis Winston went 22 of 34 for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
Saints defense did give up 416 yards with 5.3 per rush and 215 through the air. Saints early struggles came due to 30.8% conversions on third down and giving up four sacks. Winston has healthy receivers and offensive line and possess a health advantage in this key areas. Play New Orleans +2.5.
Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Panthers at Giants—Carolina receiver Shi Smith questionable with all second stringers healthy. Panthers defensive starters healthy. Carolina comes off the 26-24 home defeat to Cleveland. Panthers offense struggled in defeat gaining only 261 yards. Dating to last year eight straight losses for the Panthers.
Carolina run game generated only 2.8 yards a carry. On defense Panthers surrendered 217 rushing yardage with 5.6 per attempt. Giants offensive starers healthy. They are banged up on defense with a corner out with defensive end and linebacker out.
They do come off the 21-20 road win at Tennessee behind 394 yards rushing for 238 yards. Key for Daniel Jones is healthy playmakers something he didn’t have for much of last season. Browns utilized a backup quarterback in their win against Carolina. Play NY Giants -1.
New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Patriots at Steelers—Patriots left tackle and linebacker questionable. Steelers offensive starters and second string all healthy. JJ Watt out on defense. New England is 0-1 with their 20-7 road defeat at Miami. Patriots offense struggled in defeat with only 271 yards.
Patriots defense limited Miami to 307 yards with 2.8 yards per rush. Pittsburgh is 1-0 with their 23-20 road overtime win at Cincinnati. Steelers gained only 267 yards and only 5.1 yards per pass attempt. Prefer Mac Jones over Mitch Trubisky especially against a Belichick defense coming off a loss.
Patriots have won four of five against the Steelers. Pittsburgh received five turnovers by the Bengals and had to survive a missed extra point with two seconds to force overtime. Play New England -2.5.

Falcons at Rams—Atlanta healthy on sides of the football. Rams wide receiver Jefferson out and center out on offense. Their left guard questionable. On defense linebacker Floyd questionable. Atlanta falls to 0-1 with their 27-26 home defeat to New Orleans Saints.
Falcons were able to move the football for 416 yards and getting 201 on the ground. Mariota a dual threat ran for 72 yards and a touchdown. Rams come off the 31-10 home defeat to Buffalo. LAR had a poor offensive showing with only 243 yards with 52 on the ground.
Defensively the Rams allowed 4.8 yards per rush with 292 passing and 9.4 per attempt. LA historically has had trouble with running quarterbacks. Play Atlanta +10.
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Seahawks at 49ers—Seattle starters on offense all healthy as is the backups. Safety Jamal Adams out. San Francisco tight end George Kittle is not expected to play. Seattle on a short week after their 17-16 home win to Denver.
Seahawks gained only 253 yards in the win with four yards per attempt. They did give up 433 yards to the Broncos with 5.2 yards per rush. San Francisco is 0-1 after their 19-10 road defeat at Chicago. 49ers offense produced only 331 yards in the loss.
But their defense held the Bears to only 204 yards with 2.7 yards per rush and 105 through the air. Trey Lance performance not inspiring to back here. Second half adjustments stopped the Seahawks offense. Lots of running and defense here. Play Seattle and San Francisco under 50.5.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Bengals at Cowboys—Tee Higgins questionable but expected to play for Cincinnati with their defense healthy. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Gallup, left tackle Smith and guard McGovern out. Safety Kearse out. Cincinnati comes off the 23-20 home overtime defeat to Pittsburgh.
Bengals rallied from a 17-3 deficit in the first quarter to force overtime. A missed extra point with two seconds loss was huge in defeat. Bengals nearly won despite five turnovers and Burrow still passed for 299 yards. Bengals defense held the Steelers to only 267 yards.
Dallas comes off the 19-3 home defeat to Tampa Bay behind only 244 yards. Run game produced only 3.9 yards per carry with only 4.1 yards per pass attempt. Major health advantage for Cincinnati here. Play Cincinnati -7.
Houston Texans vs. Denver Broncos NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Texans at Broncos—Houston center out with their defense healthy. Broncos starting wide receiver and right guard out. On defense their defensive end and two linebackers questionable. Houston comes off the 20-20 tie at home to the Colts.
Texans moved the football for only 299 yards in their tie. Their run game sputtered for 2.8 yards a carry. They did surrender 517 yards to the Colts offense with 4.7 yards a carry. Davis Mills was able to throw for 222 yards with six yards per pass attempt.
Texans defense concern and Broncos defense on a short week a concern with three starters banged up. Denver balance on offense should produce plenty of points. Play Denver and Houston over 45.5.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Las Vegas Raiders NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Cardinals at Raiders—Arizona wide receiver Moore out with left guard questionable. J.J. Watt and safety Thompson questionable. Raiders center, linebacker and free safety out. Arizona falls to 0-1 after their 44-21 home defeat to Kansas City Chiefs.
Cardinals defense was crushed for 488 yards with 360 through the air and 9.2 yards per pass attempt. Raiders 0-1 after their 24-19 road defeat at the Chargers. Run game averaged 4.9 yards but only 13 carries with 256 passing.
Raiders defense did give up 279 yards through the air with 8.2 yards per pass attempt. Massive step down in class for Las Vegas facing the Arizona defense. Play Arizona and Las Vegas over 51.5.
Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers NFL Pick Prediction 9/18/2022
Bears at Packers—Chicago healthy on offense and defense. Green Bay receiver Lazard, both tackles and left guard questionable. The defense is healthy. Chicago is 1-0 after their 19-10 home win to San Francisco. Bears win despite gaining only 204 yards. Justin Fields only 8 of 17 for 121 yards with two touchdowns and a pick.
Bears ran for only 2.7 per attempt. Green Bay 0-1 after their 23-7 road defeat at Minnesota. Packers offense struggled with 338 yards with the passing game averaging only 5.8 yards per pass attempt. Green Bay did give up 269 passing yards to the Vikings with 8.4 per attempt.
Third down defense was good last week but their offense converted only 33.3% and they were red zone issues for their offense. Bears offense will struggle in this spot. Play Chicago and Green Bay under 42.
