Western Kentucky finished last year with a 9-5 overall record. The Hilltoppers’ campaign came to an end with a Boca Raton Bowl triumph. Despite a few disappointments, the Western Kentucky team enjoyed a solid season last year.

The Hilltoppers finished 7-1 in Conference USA and had a 9-5 overall record. WKU succeeded in winning the East Division, but UTSA defeated them 49–41 in the CUSA Championship Game.

The Hilltoppers traveled to the Boca Raton Bowl after their defeat in the CUSA Championship Game to take on Appalachian State on December 18.

To close the year on a strong note, Western Kentucky would go on to win that game 59-38. The team’s top returning tackler, Jaden Hunter, will be the linebacking group’s captain.
