Boston at Washington NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Capitals (H): The emphasis for D.C. is getting 50 goals for Alex Ovechkin. The “Great 8” got one Saturday, now needing eight more in the final 11 games.
Interestingly, Ovechkin registered his goal on only two shots — we offered Over 3.5 in a losing prop —but there was no apparent reason to change.
As noted for the Pittsburgh game, neither side was concerned on the winner, thus, the Over proved to be an easy winner.
The Caps streak of W2, L2< W2, L2, extended to 10 with Saturday’s road win in Pittsburgh. Thus, at the current W2, they are due for a setback, especially since Boston had a day off following a road overtime road win at Tampa Bay.
Bruins: However, Boston likes to dictate the action, so with an older team, a slower pace would result in an Under.
Another reason to play the slow down, possible key injuries suffered this week: David Pastrnak, Hampus Lindholm and Trent Frederic. There is no need to hurry their return, but they are not on the I.R., so could come back at any time.
Brions are 8-2 SU/ATS in L10, but three of the wins were in overtime.
Prediction: Boston leads the season series, 2-0. Boston has the slight emotional edge is an attempt to finish in second place to gain home ice in the first round of the playoffs. And D.C. doesn’t mind whether is pace is fast or slow. All that sounds like the ingredients for an UNDER, with the value play going to the road-side BRUINS.
Nashville at Pittsburgh NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Predators: Nashville was handed a message on Saturday by Florida: “you ain’t that good.” And it showed.
The Predators managed just 25 shots on Florida reserve goalie Spencer Knight while the Panthers were in a back-to-back situation, now the preds are B2B.
Meanwhile, Vegas declared they remain in the wild card chase despite playing more contests than anyone else, catching Nashville with 86 points for the extra berth in the Western Conference, while Dallas is now on the outside looking in.
Bashville is still young enough to fold down the stretch, so a rebound performance is badly needed here.
Penguins: Playing back-to-back isn’t that bad when both contests are at home. However, they lost to division rival Washington, a nice little bounce-back is in order.
The Pens are in the playoffs; Nashville is not. Thus, PIT can be an excuse for its current 1-5-0 SU run, yet do need to win once in a while.
The problem in PIT suddenly is a rash of small injuries may be getting larger. One game following his return, winger Jason Zucker suffered a “gruesome” injury (as reported by one Steel City media outlet.
Last season, Zucker suffered a broken leg and missed significant time. This season, he missed the last 30 games due to core muscle surgery, and 37 of the last 38 games with the injury.
At least newcomer Rickard Rakell is fitting in well. He took a Sidney Crosby pass to complete a two-on-one, odd-man rush for a goal, his third goal since being acquired at the NHL trade deadline.
Prediction: If Nashville wants to play physical, it might be the wake-up call the Pens need. If the Preds play polite hockey, this has the making of an UNDER. Note, in late-season, non-conference games, the percentage of games going to overtime doubles (or more), so playing a 60-MINUTE DARW at +300 is always a fun prop play.
Los Angeles at Minnesota NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Kings: If lines were out for the 2023 Stanley Cup — or Western Conference and Pacific Division — the youngsters for L.A. would make the Kings highly desirable. While gaining valuable playing time, L.A. owns a chance of shocking Calgary for the division lead.
Sure, the Flames hold a few games in hand as we hit the 10-to-go mark, but .500 hockey won’t be enough for the Albertans.
The L.A. Kings “audio network” declared — three times — that the number of people wearing red (no-contact) jerseys was down to two skaters. So check the pregame injury list to see who is activated (and fresh) as the healthy scratch list starts to increase.
Despite playing well, the Kings are 2-321 Su (2-4 ATS) in L6.
These clubs are 1-1 this season, both in L.A.; this is the lone meeting in St. Paul.
Wild: Minnesota’s recent 9-0-1 SU (9-1 ATS0 run has been followed by a pair of loss, both on the road against Central Division rivals Nashville and St. Louis.
At home, Minnesota is as good as any one, going 9-0-1 SU (9-1 ATS). That OT loss was in the last homer game, so a bounce back could be in the offering.
Prediction: L.A. has frequently suffered too many neutral zone turnovers against Minnesota, so if they can down on the giveaways, this has the making of an UNDER.
Buffalo at Tampa Bay NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Sabres: At this time of the season, we’re always looking for second-division dogs, looking to show off their AHL call-ups and take down an unfocused favorite at +200 or better.
Of late, the Sabres have defeated such clubs as Carolina and NY Islanders, but since then have slowed down to 2-3-1 SU (2-4 ATS) in L6..
But that’s they key: 6 overtime games over the past three weeks They’re still working hard, including wins over Pittsburgh, Florida and the Bolts.
Earlier in the season, we’d be all over the Sabres, but Tampa Bay needs the points.
Lightning: Here’s how focused Tampa Bay is, better, isn’t: no goalie has been released as of press time. The focus could be getting worrisome 0-2-2 SU (0-4 ATS) in L4.
Tampa Bay has a look-ahead at Dallas, then it’s six more at home in a fairly light schedule featuring at least three non-playoff bound opponents.
Prediction: We don’t lay -300 with anyone, but this late run by Buffalo is strong, but it’s that solid. The official play is a PASS, so parlay others -200/higher favorites into a round-robin parlay.

Anaheim at Carolina NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Ducks: Across the freeway from Honda Center is the California Adventure amusement park, a part of Disney. Maybe it’s mis-named because the Anaheim adventure this season has been a total mess.
And since, unlike the NBA, there is no NHL club in Orlando, Fla., this is as close as the Ducks will travel on the north side.
Hurricanes: At -300 or more, the only thing Carolina wants to do is clinch No 1 in the Eastern Conference,
More importantly, Carolina messed up in Saturday’s home loss to the Islanders.
Prediction: Like Tampa Bay, join these huge favs in a round-robin parlay (not a straight parlay — e.g., four teams in groups of three each — because even a Puck Line play is listed with considerable chalk.
Dallas at Chicago NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Stars: Suddenly, Dallas is out of the playoff picture — by just a single point, but that’s all it takes.
Expect a bounce-back from a club which holds plenty of focus against an opponent ready for the golf course.
Blackhawks: How easy is Chicago for the offseason? We correctly and easily predicted a home-ice loss to Seattle earlier in the week.,,, and my friends bought me dinner (not the other way around!) — I left the tip!
Prediction: So far, our round-robin parlay is Carolina, Tampa Bay and the STARS.
Winnipeg at Ottawa NHL Pick Prediction 4/10/2022
Jets: Direct from the wire: “Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers will miss at least one game after suffering an injury on Tuesday against the Washington Capitals, interim head coach Dave Lowry said after the game. Ehlers suffered the injury in the third period of the Jets’ OT loss to the Capitals after a knee-on-knee collision with defenceman Dmitry Orlov.”

It may not matter, the Jets remain six points behind Dallas, but the Stars have since fallen to ninth in the conference, so Winnipeg is actually seven points (eight if you count tie-breakers) out of a playoff berth.
That’s a long way to go, especially since you need to climb over at least two other teams.
Senators: Ottawa fell at MSG on Saturday, when the Rangers officially clinched a playoff berth — like that’s any ews; we knew this before New Year’s Eve. Sens winger Austin Watson opened the scoring, then it was down hills.
Now they are back in Kanata to meet a Jets team which is getting desperate for points. Plus, Ottawa needed to travel from Nashville to almost halfway across the country to NYC, and now cross the border to get home for a third game in fought nights.
Thus, a growing 3-game win streak might reserve into a 3-game losing streak against Winnipeg.
In the Sens’ last four wins, they’ve scored 21 goals (no fewer than five). On they’re last six losses, they have a total of 8 goals so a single-game parlay may be in order.
Prediction: Most of our competitors have selected Ottawa. So in a near even match-up, the value play goes to the… JETS.
Also, Like Washington’s Alex Ovecnhkin, Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor is tied for sixth in the NHL with 41 goals entering the weekend, needing nine goals in 10 games to reach 50. Thus, some more open play is possible.
Winnipeg’s Luc Dubois became the first member of the Jets since Dustin Byfuglien (112) in 2017-18 to post 100 penalty minutes in a season, so expect quite a few power plays for both teams.
Also, because this is a national television game in Canada, you also need to strongly look at the OVER.
