The top defenders for the Beavers were led by LB Avery Roberts with 69 (39 solos, 30 assisted) total tackles and 0.5 sacks for 3 sack yards.

The Purdue Boilermakers will start the 2021 season at home; the team ended last season with a 2- 4 overall record. Purdue settled in 6th place in the Big Ten Conference West Division with a total of 163 points collected while losing 179 for a -16 point difference. Purdue canceled games at home due to the pandemic and the team will have their chance to come back this season. The Boilermakers will be using 2 sets of quarterbacks with Jack Plummer and Aidan O’Connell making an early dynamic tandem. WR David Bell led the receiving squad after grabbing 53 passes for 625 yards with 89 long receptions and landed 8 touchdowns. LB Derrick Barnes led the defensive line with 54 total tackles, one pass defended, and one interception for 8 yards. CB Cam Allen will be beefing up the backfield for the Boilermakers with 2 interceptions for 12 yards and 27 total tackles.
