With Cam Newton under center the Patriots could only gain 288 yards. 49ers defense has played well this year holding opponents to 321 yards, 8th best on third down and third rated in the red zone. Past three games the 49ers are running for 4.9 yards per carry which will help Garoppolo in the passing game. Their defense holing teams to 3.8 per attempt and face a New England team that runs the most of any in the league. Patriots have the fewest touchdowns passes this season. That will put pressure on Cam Newton to convert key third downs with his arm which has been a major weakness the past few seasons. Patriots 20th on third down and 24th in the red zone. Play 49ers +2.
