The Cincinnati Tigers will host the Detroit Tigers at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. The game will be on July 22,2012 6:10 P.M. This is the last game that does not count until the regular season starts. This will be a rematch for both teams after the Reds defeated The Tigers in their previous matchup. Momentum will surely go a long way as both teams don’t really have much expectations to say the least.

Detroit will be looking for some redemption during their rematch. Center Fielder JaCoby Jones and Second Baseman Jonathan Schoop each had 1 home run a piece with Schoop going 2 for 4 with a double. Niko Goodrum and Brandon Dixon each recorded a solo shot for the Tigers. Austin Romine gave the team a double and an RBI, rounding out Detroit’s scoring during their loss. The Tigers need to work on their pitching game since it was the cause of their meltdown in the previous game. Their offense is good but someone needs to step up in the pitching division for the team. David Mckay was a big factor during the Tiger’s loss going only for a single inning, and giving up 3 earned runs. Michael Fullmer is going to start for the Tigers. This will be his first start this pre season.

The Cincinnati Reds are looking to continue their winning ways to end the postseason. The Reds had a barrage of home runs courtesy of Shogo Akiyama. Akiyama delivered a 3 run home run, while Freddy Galvez and Eugenio Suarez had two run shots each. Tucker Barnhart, and Jesse Winker gave the team solo home runs to finish off Cincinnati’s offensive for the win. Pedro Strop got the win to improve his record at 1-0. The Reds should be proud of the offensive show they put on during the previous game. Their offensive was questionable but they can surely take advantage of bad pitching. Jose De Leon will start the game for the Reds and is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA at this point during the postseason.

Detroit Tigers vs Cincinnati Reds. It’s difficult to pick which team has the advantage when both teams offer a near equal potential. Going for the Reds would be possible given that they won their previous bout, but it was more like a close call victory to say the least. The Reds were rocked early by Fulmer when he started the game. It’s anyones ball game, going with the Tigers this time would be the better choice. Detroit Tigers win this round to a predicted score of 6-3.
