Appalachian St went into North Carolina and got a three point win. Not let down the following week beating Coastal Carolina the following week by 19 points. They faced a good offensive team at home in Charlotte and got the 56-41 win. Mountaineers are moving the football for 429 yards and running well with 5.8 yards per rush with quarterback Zac Thomas a junior connecting for 71.9% of his throws with seven touchdowns and two picks. Louisiana has a neutral field loss by ten to a down Mississippi St team. Following that win the schedule has not been very difficult. Ole Miss at Missouri—College football free pick is Missouri Tigers -12. This is a very good Missouri team. They come off a 42-10 win against a good mid major team in Troy at home last week. They have wins by 20 at home to South Carolina and 31 to West Virginia. Tigers defense has been good holding teams to 227 yards per game and only 2.8 yards per rush on the ground. Quarterback Kelly Bryant is completing 64.8% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and 3 picks. Ole Miss has a 28-20 loss at home to an offensively challenged but good defensive team in Cal. In their road games the Rebels dropped a 28 decision at Alabama and 15-10 at Memphis. Ole Miss on the road gains only 325 yards. Starting quarterback Matt Corral is questionable with a rib injury. Texas Tech at Baylor—Free pick is Texas Tech Red Raiders +12. Looks like the Red Raiders got their act together by posting a 45-35 home win to Oklahoma St last week. They are without starting quarterback Alan Bowman with a shoulder injury until November. Junior Jeff Duffey showed improvement in his second start going 26 of 44 for 424 yards with four touchdowns. Baylor has some close wins by 2 at home to Iowa St and by eight at Rice. Bears quarterback Charlie Brewer was knocked out of their win to Kansas St last week and didn’t return. Brewers has been cleared to play. Red Raiders have balance as they do are running for 172 yards and 5.2 yards per rush. Red Raiders generate enough offense to cover this number. Play Texas Tech +12.

Iowa St at West Virginia—College football pick is West Virginia Mountaineers +10. After a slow start the Mountaineers are showing improvement. They were competitive in an eleven point home loss to a good Texas team. They moved the football on the Longhorns offense for 463 yards. Quarterback Austin Kendall has completed 67% of his passes the past three games. Iowa St is a disappointing team with home loss to Iowa 18-17 and at Baylor 23-21. Cyclones gain about 100 yards fewer on the road with their run game generating only 2.3 yards per rush. Iowa St in their road game at Baylor surrendered 307 yards passing. Cincinnati at Houston—College football free pick is Houston Cougars +7.5. Could be a letdown spot for the Bearcats after their emotional win at home to UCF by three. They did drop a road game at Ohio St 42-0. Houston had their starting quarterback D’Eriq King redshirt possibly looking for schools to transfer too. But King was not accurate this season completing 52.7% of his passes. Here comes backup Clayton Tune who completes 16 of 20 with a touchdown at a good North Texas team and the Cougars come away with the 46-25 win as a six point underdog. Tune rushed for 100 yards on nine carries as the team finished with 246 yards rushing for 8.2 yards per carry. Sophomore quarterback Desmond Ridder hasn’t been accurate in two of his past three games. Houston returns home after back to back road games. Play Houston +7.5.

Maryland at Purdue—Free pick is Purdue Boilermakers +4. Maryland has lost starting quarterback Joshua Jackson to an ankle injury. It will be Tyrell Pigrome under center for the Terrapins. Pigrome saw work in the win against Rutgers but now takes a step up in class on the road at Purdue. Boilermakers have been hit with injuries as well at the quarterback position. Freshman Jack Plummer makes his third start and has faced TCU, Minnesota and at Penn St. Boilermakers were competitive at home to a good Minnesota team losing 38-31as Plummer threw for 245 yards. Memphis at Temple—College football pick is Temple Owls +6. Owls have covered the past four against Memphis. Owls have notable win at home to Maryland and Georgia Tech and comes off a road win at East Carolina by ten last week. Temple defense has been good holding opponents to 292 yards per game, 3.2 yards per rush and only 45.9% completion rate. Temple quarterback Anthony Russo coming off a good performance at East Carolina completing 23 of 34 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown.
