Panthers at Patriots—NFL Pick is New England Patriots -3. New England makes their preseason home debut and it looks like Tom Brady will get the start in the dress rehearsal week. Patriots have looked sharp in their first two games winning and covering each. Team is averaging 411 yards and 26.5 points per game in their first two games. Passing yardage is 283 yards. They are getting good work from backup quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and rookie Jarrett Stidham. New England is completing 70.8% of their passes. Cam Newton and running back Christian McCaffrey in the preseason nor linebacker Luke Kuechly. The Panthers star linebacker has been dealing with injuries in his career so his play may be limited. Cam Newton is coming off shoulder surgery and McCaffrey took part in 90% of the Panthers offensive snaps last year. Because of the short turnaround from Saturday the Patriots sat many of their starters last week. Carolina backup quarterback play has not been good as Kyle Allen and Will Grier have struggled.
