The San Diego Padres must be happy with their start, especially since they are still playing without superstar SS Fernando Tatis, Jr.

The Padres are 5-3 heading into Friday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves, and coupled with timely hitting with good pitching thus far this year. They crushed the Braves 12-1 in the series opener, thanks to five hits from their other superstar, 3B Manny Machado.

Machado blasted his first home run since 2021, scored four runs, and drove in two. His significant explosion was consistently powerful and opponents began pitching around him this season.

Nick Martinez earned a no-decision in his debut start against San Francisco on Saturday, allowing five hits and a run in 5 innings. The match ended in a 4-2 victory for the side.

Martinez, who last pitched for Texas in 2017, returned to the major leagues after a five-year sabbatical. His first start was a positive indication for the Padres, who were hunting for another starter to round out their rotation. The Padres are still tinkering with their lineup, attempting to find the optimum combination while playing without a key player.

Martinez’s first start was promising, but he is still five years away from pitching in the majors regularly. Anderson, on the other hand, struggled in his debut start but emerged as a valuable member of the Braves’ rotation last season.

Furthermore, I fully anticipate the Braves to begin seeing productivity from certain members of their lineup, namely Swanson and Rosario. Swanson will never be a high-average hitter, but he regularly put up power statistics throughout his career. He’ll start hitting for extra bases fairly soon.

Rosario will benefit from a day off on Friday night and should be able to break out of his funk quickly. He’s just too excellent a hitter to only one hit in his first 20 at-bats. The Atlanta Braves will win predicted at 6-4
