Doug Marrone enters his third season as head coach. After an AFC Championship run in 2017 the Jaguars took several steps backwards finishing at 5-11 and missing the playoffs. Gone is maligned quarterback Blake Bortles who will be a backup with the LA Rams. Nick Foles will start at quarterback and has won a Super Bowl as a starter in 2017 with the Eagles. Tanner Lee, Gardner Minshew and Alex McGough are backups so Foles needs to remain healthy. Offense needs improvement from a 2018 campaign that saw the team push across 15 points and 302 yards per game. They added an edge rusher with their first pick in the draft in Josh Allen out of Kentucky. Running back Leonard Fournette has dealt with injury issues missing 11 of 34 games in two seasons. He saw action in only 8 games in 2018. Good news is the Jags defense was good holding opponents to 20 points and 311 yards per game. Remember some of those points were put up by Blake Bortles ineffectiveness. Marqise Lee remains as a target in the passing game as is Dede Westbrook. After that is a drop off young talent. Jaguars play all teams from the NFC South and AFC West. As the last place team in the AFC South they face last place Jets from AFC East and Bengals from AFC North.
