Bieber looks to rebound after a rough start at Boston.
Smeltzer had a good outing in his first start at home to Milwaukee and was dominant in AA and AAA this year.
8:15PM ET—Reds (Castillo) at Cardinals (Cabrera)

7PM ET—Giants (Bumgarner) at Mets (Syndergaard)
New York -145 with o/u 7.
Cabrera makes his second start after giving up three runs in 3 2/3rd innings at Philadelphia.
Reds bats have been quiet scoring two runs or fewer in three of four. Castillo has been hampered with control issues of late with 13 walks in his past 19 1/3rd innings.

First meeting since 2011. Auburn following their blowout road loss at Alabama blew out Purdue in their bowl game 63-14. Starting quarterback Jarrett Stidham exits for the NFL and there is a four player competition for the starting quarterback position. Freshman Bo Nix co-led the first team in the spring and is a heralded recruit. Tigers lack experience playmakers. They were 8-5 last year 3-5 in SEC and held opponents to 19.2 points per game last season.
Ducks a late road loss at Utah 32-25 hurt their chances at a PAC 12 title. Team beat Michigan St 7-6 in their bowl game. Starting quarterback Justin Herbert surprised many by electing to return to college. They finished at 9-4 overall and only 5-4 in the PAC 12. Team struggled defending the pass allowing 241.6 yards passing per game. 17 starters return for Oregon. Head coach Cristobal is recruiting size to his offensive and defensive lines. Their freshman backs Verdell and Dye return after putting up good numbers last year.
