NCAA College Football Picks Preview Predictions Odds

Saturday September 1st, 2018

12PM ET—Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech (ESPN)
Texas Tech -2.5 with o/u 66.5
Game played in Houston.

Texas Tech was a 6-7 team last year. Break in a first year starter at QB. Issue has been the defense for several season. Team gave up 444 yards per game a year ago.
It was a nice closure to a 6-6 season when Ole Miss beat their rivals Mississippi St. Team has experienced with eight starters on offense and seven to the defense. They too break in a first year starter at quarterback. Defense gave up 460 yards last season.
3:30PM ET—Auburn vs. Washington (ABC)
Auburn -2.5 o/u 48.5
Game played in Atlanta
Auburn returns Jarrett Stidham at quarterback. Team posted wins to Georgia and Alabama in the regular season last year. Six starters return on offense and seen to the defense.
Washington is an experienced team with eight starters returning on offense with nine to the defense. Quarterback Jake Browning has his running back Myles Gakins back with four to the offensive line. Defense held opponents to 16.1 points per game.

7:30PM ET—Michigan at Notre Dame (NBC)
Notre Dame -1 o/u 46.5
Michigan is counting on Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson at quarterback. Ole Miss did lost a lot of games with Patterson at QB. He threw three picks at Cal last season. Patterson had five interceptions combined in games against LSU and Alabama. A defense that allowed 18.8 points per game returns 9 starters.
Notre Dame a ten win team last year has ten starters returning on defense. That unit held opponents to 21.5 points per game best in four seasons. Brandon Wimbush starts at quarterback with first year starters and left and right tackle.

8PM ET—Louisville vs. Alabama (ABC)
Alabama -24 o/u 62.5
Game Played at Orlando. Jawan Pass takes over for Lamar Jackson at quarterback. He has got size at 6’4” tall. Defense is experienced with only four starters back.
Still question marks for starter at quarterback. Most assumed it would be Tua after he led the Crimson Tide to a win against Georgia in the title game. Only three starters return on defense but Alabama has shown the ability to replace with quality.

10:45PM ET—BYU at Arizona (ESPN)

Arizona -11.5 o/u 60.5

BYU has continued their slide since becoming an independent. Cougars finished 4-9. They have seven starters back on offense and defense. Team completed only 54.4% of their passes last year. Senior Tanner Mangum returns at quarterback.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin makes his debut with the Wildcats. Dual threat quarterback Khalil Tate returns at quarterback and has all his playmakers back in the passing game. Defense struggled the past several seasons under Rick Rodriguez. Last year they gave up 34.4 points with 471 yards per game.

7:30PM Eastern Time—Miami Hurricanes vs. LSU Tigers (ABC)
Miami -3.5. o/u 46.5
Game played in Arlington Texas. Miami was a ten win team last year. Defense has improved under Mark Richt as did the offense production. Question is can the Hurricanes take the next step and win the ACC.

LSU has five starters back on offense and defense. Ohio St transfer Joe Burrow starts at quarterback. Tigers just cant get to completion percentage of 65% of greater as they have lingered in the upper 50s.

Monday September 3rd, 2018
8PM EST—Virginia Tech at Florida St (ESPN)
Florida St -7.5 o/u 55
Virginia Tech posted a strong defense last year allowing 14.8 points per game. But they return only five starters. Joshua Jackson is now a sophomore at quarterback with two first year starters at quarterback.

Florida St welcomes DeOndre Francois back at quarterback. It is an experienced offense with eight starters returning. This is a Florida St team breaking first year starters at linebacker and two in the secondary. Willie Taggart enters his first year as head coach as the Seminoles went 7-6 last seaon
