Notable Mid-Week Series:

MLB Betting Picks and Predictions

Arizona Diamondbacks at Chicago Cubs—Arizona is battling LA Dodgers for an NL West title. They are getting great work from Zack Greinke and their bullpen. Team is hitting again but has been inconsistent. Question is can the likes of Robbie Ray, Zach Godley and Shelby Miller get their act together.

Cubs hold a 2 ½ game lead over Milwaukee in the NL Central. Keep and eye on Hendricks and Lester who have had recent struggles. Quintana has poor numbers at Wrigley Field. Cubs rank second in MLB in team batting.

Notable Weekend Series:

MLB Betting Picks and Predictions

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Cincinnati Reds—Phillies are in a battle with Atlanta in the NL East race. Aaron Nola has been sharp. Zach Eflins has put up good numbers. Jake Arrieta has shown improvement of late. Nick Pivetta and Vince Velasquez has shown struggles.

Reds too far below .500 to get in contention but could be a spoiler in the final two months of the season. Starting rotation still needs major improvement. They rank 30th in quality starts. Offense has shown improvement since managerial change.

LA Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves—Manny Machado now a Dodgers. They have looked good on this road trip. Their starters have gotten healthy. But team is too reliant on the bullpen.

Braves in the NL East and Wildcard race. Sean Newcomb had a good outing against the Marlins but needs to build on that start. They fell 9-3 at Miami this afternoon as they are 2-2 coming off the break.

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros—Poor season for Texas as they sit 42-59 entering Tuesday. They have dropped eight of their past ten games. Starting pitching has been atrocious this season.

Houston sits four games in the loss column on Seattle in the NL West race. Dallas Keuchel has shown improvement. Lance McCullers Jr was crushed by the Angels and Athletics in recent starts. Cleveland and Minnesota rocked him earlier in the season.

Chicago Cubs vs. St Louis Cardinals—We talked Cubs already

Cardinals are 50-50 entering Tuesday sitting six games in the loss column back of Atlanta in the NL Wildcard. They have been very inconsistent at plating runs this year.

Oakland Athletics vs. Colorado Rockies—Athletics are three games back of Seattle in the AL Wildcard race. Team is 3-1 coming off the break heading into Tuesday.

Seattle Mariners vs. LA Angels—Seattle quietly 60-40 on the year. James Paxton was not able to make his start on Tuesday because of a back issue. Robinson Cano returns August 14th. Mariners are eighth hitting team in baseball.

Angels sit 50-51 and 11 games in the loss column back of Seattle for the final wildcard. They are one game under .500 losing three of four coming off the break. Offense has sputtered as the team ranks in the bottom half of the league in runs scored and team batting.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Francisco Giants—Milwaukee 2 ½ games back of the Cubs. They are 2-2 since coming off the break after beating Washington on Monday. During their slump the Brewers struggled for runs.

Giants are 51-50 and have to start winning on the road. They came off the break dropping two of three at Oakland. Dereck Rodriguez has looked good in the rotation.
