Notable Mid-Week Series:
Brewers at Cardinals—
Brewers holding a game lead over Chicago and 1 ½ games over Cardinals at one game over .500 entering Tuesday. They lost Game 1 of their doubleheader to St Louis 6-0.
Cardinals move to 30-32 with the win and have won four straight. They made changes to their coaching staff after an awful road trip leading into this home stand.
Orioles at White Sox—
Baltimore sinking to 7 ½ back of the Yankees in the AL East at 31-31. 10-21 record on the road and entering Tuesday losers of five straight and seven of nine.
Chicago last in AL Central at 27-35. They returned home off a 2-7 road trip by beating Baltimore in the opener Monday 10-7. Starting pitching is an issue as the club is 28th in quality starts.
Dodgers at Indians—
LA sits one game back of Colorado entering this series. They have been good at home with a 39-25 record. 14-15 on the road. Tops in MLB in Team ERA and WHIP.
Cleveland sits a game back of Minnesota in the AL Central. They are 14-15 at home. 21st in MLB in runs scored and team batting. Starting pitching has struggled.
Notable Weekend Series:
Cubs at Pirates—
Cubs are 31-32 after losing their five of six dropping a 6-1 decision at the Mets Monday. They are pounding New York early on in their meeting Tuesday.
Pittsburgh 29-35 but only 3 ½ back of Milwaukee in NL Central. They have won three straight entering Tuesday. Not much power in this lineup sitting 29th in home runs.
Nationals at Mets—
Washington sitting in first place in the AL East by 8 ½ games. Their bullpen is bad and blew a 9-6 lead in the eighth inning to Atlanta on Monday. Nationals are second in runs scored and third in team batting.
Mets sit 29-33 and their four game win streak is in jeopardy Tuesday. Their pitchers allow nearly 1 ½ runners per inning sitting 29th in WHIP.
Giants at Rockies—
San Francisco is now 14 ½ back of Colorado in the NL West. They are 14-16 at home after losing two of three at home to Minnesota over the weekend. They are 29th in runs scored on the season as last in home runs.
Colorado enters Tuesday 41-25. A good road team at 24-12. Pitching staff sits eighth in Team ERA at 4.04. 10th in quality starts.
White Sox at Blue Jays—

Blue Jays had a shot to hit .500 on Tuesday but they are down 6-0 in the fifth hosting Tampa Bay. Toronto offensive production has been down from previous seasons.
Mariners at Rangers—
Seattle is 32-33 getting in contention for the wild card race as they have won six of nine games after beating Minnesota Monday 14-3. They sit eighth in team batting.
Texas 31-21 entering play at Houston with a four game win streak. They have pitched well during this win streak.
Red Sox at Astros—
Boston is in striking distance in the AL East at 35-28. Their starters are giving them innings as the Red Sox sit 4th in quality starts. The Red Sox has been sitting near the bottom of the league all season long with home run production.
Houston has a 12 game lead in the AL West. They are going through a funk with pitching right now losers of five of seven after dropping a 6-1 home decision to Texas.
Indians at Twins—
We talked Indians already
Minnesota clinging to a one game lead in the AL Central at 32-28. They are 12-18 at home with a bad bullpen. They have allowed 27 runs in their past two games.
Yankees at Athletics—
The Yankees are the talk of New York once again as rookie Judge is delivering rocket shots. They are 15 games over .500 after beating the Angels on Monday for their sixth straight win. They are the number one offense in MLB sitting tops in runs, batting average and homers. In pitching New York is second in Team ERA.
Oakland sits in the basement of the AL West at 27-36. They have dropped four of five games and trailing midway through their game at Miami on Tuesday. 25th in runs scored and team batting. 23rd ranked in Team ERA.
