Notable Mid-Week Series:

New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros—Yankees have played well to get their record to 18-10 behind strong pitching performances. Their nine game win streak was broken in their 2-1 road loss to Houston in the opener.

Astros carried a three game win streak into Tuesday. Astros number one in baseball in Team ERA, WHIP, strikeouts and quality starts. Their hitting has improved since the start of the season.

LA Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks—Dodgers struggling on the mound. Bullpen ERA is near 5. Seager out for the season and have fell to 12-16 heading into Tuesday.

Diamondbacks hold a 5 ½ game lead on the Giants after their 8-5 home win to the Dodgers in the opener. Team has won seven of nine games. Arizona is second in Team ERA and getting strong performance out of their bullpen.

Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners—Seattle is out to a 16-11 start. Team is hitting ranking sixth in batting and fifth in home runs. Mariners have won five of six entering play on Tuesday.

Oakland is 14-14 at Seattle Tuesday. They return home after a 3-3 road trip at Houston and Texas. This team has also improved at the plate ranking fourth in team batting and sixth in runs scored as well as homers.

Notable Weekend Series:

Cleveland Indians vs. New York Yankees—
We talked Yankees already

Cleveland has been up and down this young season sitting at 15-12 as they host Texas on Tuesday. They are getting good work from their pitching staff but are hitting only .225 as a team.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets—Rockies are 15-15 entering Tuesday but trending downward with a three game losing streak. They have scored a total of four runs in their past five games.

Mets are 17-9 sitting in first place in the NL East. They returned home off a 4-5 road trip at Atlanta, St Louis and San Diego. Mets making the most run wise from a .234 team batting average.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays—Blue Jays carry a two game win streak at Minnesota. They struggled through a 2-4 home stand to Texas and Boston. Starting pitching has struggled with a 5.29 ERA but their bullpen has been solid with ERA of 2.28.

Tampa Bay after an awful start is 13-14 entering Tuesday. They have won nine of ten after beating Detroit 3-2 on Monday. Their offensive production has picked up and are now third in MLB in team batting.

Boston Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers—Red Sox still hold first place in the AL East at 21-7. They have won two straight as they host KC. Boston is crushing right handers hitting .298 and pushing across 6.69 runs per game. Starting and relief pitching has been good.

Texas is 11-19 as they are at Cleveland Tuesday up big late in this game. Rangers struggles at the plate with a .231 batting average and starting pitching has an ERA at 5 giving up too many baserunners.

Chicago Cubs vs. St Louis Cardinals—Cubs have moved their record to 16-10 hosting Colorado on Tuesday on a five game win streak and winners of eight of ten. Their pitching has been outstanding allowing four runs in their past five games.

St Louis heads into play hosting the White Sox on a three game losing streak after getting swept at Pittsburgh. They struggled in the past two games at the plate. Cardinals hitting only .232 as a team. Starting pitching has been good with ERA of 3.31.

Houston Astros vs. Arizona Diamondbacks—

We talked both teams already. Battle of first place teams. Diamondbacks bullpen has been good. Astros are hitting for better average. Houston starters ERA is 2.44 as teams bat .196 against this unit.

LA Angels vs. Seattle Mariners—

We talked Seattle already

Angels are trending downward. They were swept in a three game home series to the Yankees over the weekend. Run production has been putrid as the team has scored two runs or fewer in seven of their past ten games. Starters ERA is over 5.
