Notable Mid-Week Series:
Cardinals at Nationals:
The Cardinals are a hot team winner of five straight after sweeping the Reds over the weekend. The pitching has been awesome as St Louis has allowed just six runs in their past five games.
The Nationals are 6-7 entering this series as the hit just .226 as a team ranking in the bottom third of the league.
Cubs at Pirates:
Cubs are 7-5 out of the gate. Jake Arrieta has an ERA under two in three starts working 20 2/3rd innings.
Pirates are one game under .500 entering play on Tuesday. They have just a .216 team batting percentage ranking 25th in MLB. They lose game one of the series against Chicago on Monday coming off a three game sweep of the Brewers at home.
Braves at Mets:
Mets are in first place in the NL East at 10-3 with Atlanta in second at 8-4. They have won some one run decisions this season. The pitching has been good and the hitting percentage has been better than average. Jacob deGrom has an ERA under one in three starts.
The Braves beat the Mets two of three two weekends ago. Nick Markakis is off to a hot start with the bat.
Dodgers at Giants:
LA carries a seven game winning streak into San Francisco. The bats are hot in LA. They are fifth best in MLB in home runs at 17 thus far.
San Francisco isn’t hitting a lick. They get swept at home by the Rockies then the Diamondbacks come in and win three of four at the Giants.
Yankees at Tigers:
Yankees lose the first game of the season after sweeping Tampa Bay on the road over the weekend. The team is hitting .236 with a lineup not to exciting.
The Tigers are 11-2 and sit in the top three in runs scored, team batting average, Team ERA and Team WHIP.
Athletics at Angels:
The Angels are 0-4 at home after losing Game 1 of this series to Oakland. The bats are cold as the club is 26th with a team batting average of .214. Trout is hitting .354.
Oakland is level at 7-7. The pitching has been good and the run production and hitting has been in the top third of the league.
Notable Weekend Series:
Cubs at Reds:

Cincinnati loses all three to St Louis over the weekend that ran a stretch of six losses over seven games. The team rebounded winning Game 1 of their series at Milwaukee on Monday.
Dodgers at Padres:
We talked about Dodgers already.
Padres crushed another left hander as they got to Jorge De La Rosa in Game 1 of their series in a big win on Monday. San Diego is second place in the NL West at 9-5.
Red Sox at Orioles:
Orioles one game over .500 and lead the Major in home runs at 19 thus far.
Red Sox have come back to earth at 4-4 over their past eight games. Pitching is the concern in some ugly losses as the club is 23rd in team ERA by allowing 4.54 runs per game.
Blue Jays at Rays:
Rays worked their way over .500 after a bad start. Then they lose all three to the Yankees over the weekend to fall to 6-7. Team is batting just .226.
Blue Jays are 6-7 entering this series loser of five of seven games. They have been giving up some high run totals to opponents during that span.
Indians at Tigers:
We talked about Tigers already
The Indians are 4-8 and have struggled against division foes. Their pitching staff is giving up a lot of baserunners and offensively sit 25th in the league in runs scored.
Royals at White Sox:
The White Sox are 5-7. They rank in the bottom third in the league in the key pitching categories like ERA and WHIP.
KC after a hot start cooled off a bit losing two of three at Minnesota. They then go home and win two of three to Oakland and took Game 1 of their series against Minnesota 7-1.
Mets at Yankees:
