Big hit to the Tampa Bay Rays are starting pitching Matt Moore is out for a year with Tommy John surgery. What are your thoughts on all these Tommy John surgeries the past few seasons.

Notable Mid-week series.
Cubs at Yankees doubleheader Wednesday: Cubs start the season at 4-8. Day/Night doubleheader on Wednesday. Bright spot for team has been the start for Jeff Samardzija but he gets very little run support. Yankees come off winning three of four last weekend from the Red Sox. Ivan Nova gave them a quality start as the pitcher has been somewhat of a head case in his time with the pinstripes. Can Kuroda avoid the big fade down the stretch?
Dodgers at Giants 3 GamerTuesday-Thursday: LA’s platoon outfield plan is working and drama is contained with winning. Giants are hitting but starting pitching is questionable beyond Baumgarner. Dodgers platoon outfield situation. No drama yet since team is winning. Kemp gets the night off on Tuesday.
Mariners at Rangers 4 Gamer Monday-Thursday: Mariners team ERA at 2.64 and WHIP of 1.06. On offense team is 11th in scoring at 4.4 runs per game. Beltre hits the DL for Texas. The Rangers pitching staff hit hard by injuries.
Notable weekend series:
Yankees at Rays Four Game Series: Rays start at 7-7 and only a ½ game behind first place Yankees and Blue Jays. Offense has sputtered out of the gate but concern about lack of depth in the pitching department in the minors for Tampa Bay. They cannot afford any ineffectiveness or injuries on that pitching staff.
Cardinals at Nationals Four Game Series: Cardinals break the Milwaukee win streak with a win on Monday night. They are 8-5 and two games behind the Brewers. Cards will lead on that great starting staff. Lance Lynn three wins thus far this season. Nationals lose Ryan Zimmerman their third baseball for a month on the DL with a thumb injury.
Braves at Mets Three Game Series: Braves out of a good start at 9-4 on the year and in first place in the NL East. Three starters hit the DL for the Braves and the team is still fourth in the league in Team ERA at 2.72. They wiill carry a four game win streak into Wednesday.
Angels at Tigers Three Game Series: Bad home loss for the Angels at home to Oakland as their close Fieri blows a save in the ninth inning. LA can’t get too far behind in this AL West series. Jered Weaver has been ineffective with velocity and control problems. Angels have to like their run production as they are third in baseball at 5.31 per game. Could be fools gold as they scored off Mets and Astros pitching to get that high average. Tigers have lost four of six games after losing two of three at San Diego over the weekend.
Brewers at Pirates Four Game Series: Pirates on revenge mode after getting swept last week at Milwaukee in a three game series. Pirates score five runs in their three game series with the Brewers. Milwaukee leads the Central at 10-3 on the year. The starting and relief pitching has been outstanding. They are number one in team ERA of 1.97 and WHIP of 1.01 as a staff.
Diamondbacks at Dodgers Three Game Series: LA is now 5-0 straight up against Arizona after their weekend sweep. Puig smuggling story impact on team? Mexican Cartal is owed 20% of Puig’s lifetime salary for smuggling the Cuban player into the US. Diamondbacks pitching has been atrocious. Why did management open the roof last weekend against the Dodgers?
