Notable Mid-Week Series:
Royals vs. Twins:
The Royals are on fire winners of seven straight after blowing out Minnesota on Tuesday. Still two games left in this series. They are the number one scoring team in baseball with nearly 7 ½ runs per game and number two in hitting with a team batting average of .329.

Minnesota’s starting rotation looked bad entering the season and they rank 30th and last in ERA, WHIP and in strike outs. They push across 2.29 runs per game on offense ranking 29th. They fell to 1-6 with the loss on Monday to KC.
Yankees at Orioles:
The Yankees have put back to back wins together after a 1-4 start. On Sunday night baseball they win 14-4 at home to Boston and on Monday they beat Baltimore 6-5 in their first road game.
Baltimore’s pitching staff is allowing nearly 5 runs per game ranking 27th in MLB. Offensively they have already 12 homers after Monday’s game.
White Sox at Indians:
Both teams are off to slow starts at 2-4. After a 0-4 start the White Sox have put together back to back wins. The offensive has been slow starting but the White Sox pitching staff was beat up by KC’s hot bats to open the season.
Cleveland’s pitching staff gets torched allowing 8 runs or great in each of their three games against the Tigers resulting in losses over the weekend.
Reds at Cubs:
After a 4-0 start the Reds has lost three straight after a 7-6 road defeat on Monday to the Cubs. Johnny Cueto in two starts has given up a total of one run in 14 innings.
Cubs are 4-2 through Monday and lead the NL Central division as they ride a three game win streak. A trip to Colorado picked up the scoring after a slow offensive start.
Mariners at Dodgers:
Mariners fall to 3-4 after blowing a five run lead to the Dodgers in the opener of this three game series. Seattle hitters are batting.197 season to date.
Dodgers are 4-3 on the year. Beyond Greinke and Kershaw the pitching staff looks mediocre. Brandon McCarthy has been roughed up. The team is hitting as Adrian Gonzalez has been red hot out of the gates.
Notable Weekend Series:
White Sox at Tigers:
We talked about the White Sox already
The Tigers are off to a 6-1 start as they swept Minnesota and Cleveland in their three game series to open the season. They are number two in Runs scored at over 7 per game and number two in ERA at 2.47.
Padres at Cubs:
We talked about the Cubs already
Padres are 4-4 on the year after dropping their first game of this series to Arizona on Monday. NL West could be very competitive this season. The Padres offense is much better than average in the key categories. Andrew Cashner has struggled in his first two starts this season.
Brewers at Pirates:
Brewers are off to a 2-5 start after a one run win at St Louis on Monday. They were swept in their opening series against Colorado where they scored six runs and gave up 20 to the Rockies in Milwaukee.
Pirates after getting swept at Cincinnati has won three of four games after a 5-4 home win to Detroit on Monday.
Orioles at Red Sox:
After a 2-0 start the Orioles has lost four of their past five games through Monday’s action. The Toronto bats crushed the Baltimore pitching staff in two of their three games over the weekend as the Blue Jays put up 10 and 12 runs in their two wins.
Boston is 5-2 through Monday. About 1/3rd of their roster is hitting but so far it has been enough because the Red Sox have five quality starts thus far from their rotation. Bogaerts, Sandoval and Ramirez are carrying the Red Sox offense.
Athletics at Royals:
We talked Royals already
After their blowout win at Houston on Monday the Athletics are 4-4 this season. This team is scoring runs as they have scored seven or greater in five of their games this season.
Angels at Astros:
There has been a lot of of talk about the Josh Hamilton issue impacting team on the field. They open the season winning two of three at Seattle. They beat Texas on Monday to open a series. But they get crushed at home over the weekend to the Royals getting swept in all three games.
The Astros are 3-4 after their Monday loss to open the series. The team is batting just .191 ranking second worst in the league.
Rockies at Dodgers:
We talked Dodgers already
The Rockies are 5-2. They started fast last year but injuries sank this team to the bottom of the division. They beat San Francisco on Monday to open their series and are now 4-0 on the road.
Diamondbacks at Giants:
The Diamondbacks are 4-3 after their win at San Diego on Monday. We know they D’Backs can hit but they go as far as their starters and bullpen take them. Arizona starter Archie Bradley shut out the Dodgers over six innings on Saturday.
San Francisco is 3-5 after losing their home opener on Monday to the Rockies 2-0. After hitting well at Arizona the Giants struggled with the bat at San Diego and in their opener to Colorado.
