Thursday September 21st, 2017—
Temple at South Florida (ESPN)—
South Florida -19.5 with over under 63
Temple upset South Florida at home last year as a +5.5 underdog. South Florida has wins against San Jose St, Stony Brook and Illinois on the year. Quarterback Quinton Flowers threw four touchdowns and ran for 106 last week.
After getting blown out at Notre Dame the rebuilding Temple Owls struggled in close victories at home to UMASS and Villanova.
Friday September 22nd, 2017—
Utah at Arizona (FOX Sports 1)—
Utah -3.5 with over under 61
Utah now a spread offense is 3-0 after pounding San Jose St at home. They have a six point road victory at BYU. Utes are allowing 1.6 yards on the ground.
Arizona responds with a 63-16 victory at UTEP after dropping a three point decision at home to Houston.
Saturday September 23rd, 2017
12PM ET—Texas A&M vs. Arkansas (ESPN)
Texas A&M -2.5 with over under 54.5
Game played at Arlington Texas
After their loss at UCLA the Aggies have been sluggish beating Nichols State by 10 and were down at the half before beating UL Lafayette 45-21 last week.
Arkansas had no answer for the TCU defense in their 28-7 home defeat. They come off the bye.
3:30PM ET—USC at Cal (ABC)
USC -16.5 with over under 63
Trojans failed to cover at home to Texas and needed a late drive to set up the game tying field to force OT. They forced a Longhorns turnover that led to an overtime three point victory.
Cal is an improved team with wins at North Carolina and last week pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Ole Miss 27-16 as a seven point dog.
3:30PM ET—Alabama at Vanderbilt (CBS)
Alabama -18.5 with over under 43.5
Vanderbilt put on a great defensive performance in their seven point home win as an underdog to Kansas St.
Alabama opens up SEC play with wins but failing to cover in wins at home to Fresno St and Colorado St.
3:30PM ET—TCU at Oklahoma St (ESPN)
Oklahoma St -11
TCU has been sharp defensively in wins to Jackson St and Arkansas. They beat SMU at home 56-38 at home last week. Question is can you trust Kenny Hill in a big game.
Oklahoma St has covered in blowout wins at home to Tulsa and on the road at South Alabama and Pittsburgh.
4PM ET—Michigan at Purdue (FOX)
Michigan -10 with over under 52
Big Ten play opens for both teams. Since their win and cover to Florida the Wolverines have won but failed to cover in wins at home to Cincinnati and Air Force.
Purdue is an improved team showcasing offense. After losing to Louisville to open the year the Boilermakers beat Ohio at home 44-21 and at Missouri last week 35-3.
7PM ET—Mississippi St at Georgia (ESPN)
Georgia -5 with over under 48.5
Mississippi St blows out LSU last week 37-7 to move to 3-0. After going up 17-7 at the half the shut out the Tigers in the second half.
Georgia beat Notre Dame 20-19 on the road in their only big test of the season covering as a 5.5 underdog. They have home wins to Appalachian St and Samford.
7PM ET—Syracuse at LSU (ESPN 2)
LSU -23.5 with over under 56
LSU looks to rebound after an embarrassing loss. You don’t see LSU lose like that in the regular season very often. The offense still a mess. They bear the Orange 34-24 last year at home but didn’t cover as 22.5 favorites.
Syracuse has shown offensive improvement the past two seasons under quarterback Eric Dungey. After an upset loss at home to Middle Tennessee St they beat Central Michigan 41-17 at home covering as a -7.5 favorite.
7:30PM ET—Penn St at Iowa (ABC)
Penn St -12.5 with over under 52
Nittany Lions offense has looked good but the competition soft in wins against Akron, Pittsburgh and Georgia St. This is their first true road game of the season.
Iowa has always been tough at home in primetime games. Their biggest test was a come from behind 44-41 road victory at Iowa St as a -3 point favorite.
8PM ET—Notre Dame at Michigan St (FOX)
Notre Dame -4 with over under 54
Fighting Irish bounced back from a home loss to Georgia by beating Boston College 49-20 on the road covering as a 14 point favorite.
Michigan St beat Notre Dame last year 36-28 as a 7.5 underdog. They come off a bye week at 2-0 after beating Western Michigan 28-14 as the defense gave up no points.
10PM ET—Washington at Colorado (FS1)
Washington -10.5 with over under 50.5
Huskies in their road game this year struggled in a 30-14 win at Rutgers failing to cover.
Biggest test for Colorado who has home wins against Colorado St covering as a three point favorite. They win but don’t cover at home to Texas St and Northern Colorado.
10:30PM ET—UCLA at Stanford (ESPN)
Stanford -7.5 with over under 62.5
It was another atrocious defensive effort for UCLA as they fall to 2-1 with a road 48-45 defeat at Memphis.
Home opener for Stanford. Back to back losses as they give up a late touchdown in a 20-17 road defeat at San Diego St last week.
