Saturday December 10th—
3PM ET–Navy vs. Army (CBS)
Navy -6 ½ points with O/U 47 points
Game played in Baltimore Maryland
Navy has had recent success against Army in this rivalry game. Both teams are headed to bowl games. Navy is coming off a loss to Temple in the AAC championship game last week. They had trouble with the speed of the Owls.
Army is the rested team having last played on November 19th defeating FCS school Morgan St 60-3 to notch their sixth win of the season. It broke a two game losing streak as the Black Knights were beat up by Notre Dame and Air Force.
Saturday December 17th
New Mexico Bowl
2PM ET–New Mexico vs. Texas San Antonio (ESPN)
New Mexico -7 points
Head coach Bob Davie and his veteran assistants have turned around this program. They are an 8-4 team who posted an impressive victory last time out at home to Wyoming.
Texas San Antonio needed a win at home to Charlotte to notch their sixth win of the year. They have a notable road win at Middle Tennessee St and home to Southern Miss.
Las Vegas Bowl
3:30PM ET—Houston vs. San Diego St (ABC)
Houston -3 points
Good matchup here. San Diego St are Mountain West champs as they defeated Wyoming on the road in their conference title game last week. Keep an eye on Aztecs running back Donnell Pumphrey as he looks to break the college football rushing yardage record.
Houston lands here and three losses have to be a disappointment for the team with higher aspirations. They drop a four point decision at Memphis on November 25th and have losses at SMU and Navy. Defense was poor in those losses.
Camelia Bowl (Montgomery Alabama)
5:30PM ET—Appalachian St vs. Toledo (ESPN)
Toledo -1 point
Toledo is a nine win team that beat up on the teams beneath them and struggled to win in step up games. Losses came at BYU, home to Ohio and Western Michigan.
Appalachian St at 9-3 won a share of the Sun Belt conference title. Their lone loss in conference came at Troy losing 28-24.
Cure Bowl (Orlando Florida)
5:30PM ET—Central Florida vs. Arkansas St (CBS Sports Network)
Central Florida -5 ½ points
Central Florida is 6-6 and closed out the regular season with losses at home to Tulsa and on the road to South Florida all by double digits.
In a year where Arkansas St had to break in a new offensive coordinator and starting quarterback they finished 7-5 with a share of the Sun Belt title winning seven of their past eight games including a 35-3 win at Troy.
New Orleans Bowl
9PM ET—Southern Mississippi vs. Louisiana Lafayette (ESPN)
Southern Mississippi -3 ½ points
Southern Miss started well but faded badly. They needed a 39-24 in the regular season finale at home to Louisiana Tech to notch their sixth win. They had dropped five of six entering that game.
Louisiana Lafayette got to six wins by beating Arkansas St and Louisiana Monroe to close out the regular season.
Monday December 19th
Miami Beach Bowl
2:30PM ET—Central Michigan vs. Tulsa (ESPN)
Tulsa -11 ½ points
Tulsa has returned to good form finishing at 9-3. They are winners of five of six games.
Central Michigan really faded down the stretch as they lose four of their past five games as they dropped at 26-21 road decision at Eastern Michigan to drop to 6-6.
Tuesday December 20th
Boca Raton Bowl
7PM ET—Memphis vs. Western Kentucky (ESPN)
Western Kentucky -4 ½ points
Memphis finished at 8-4 and were up and down. They closed the regular season beating Houston at home 48-44. They have losses at Navy and home to Tulsa giving up lots of points.
Western Kentucky is 10-3 and Champions of Conference USA as they defeated Louisiana Tech 58-44 for their seventh straight victory.
Wednesday December 21st
Poinsettia Bowl (San Diego, California)
9PM ET—BYU vs. Wyoming (ESPN)
BYU -8 ½ points
Wyoming fell short of a Mountain West title with their home loss to San Diego St in the conference championship game. They finished at 8-5 after dropping three of four losing at New Mexico and UNLV in addition to the Aztecs.
BYU navigated through a tough schedule with a first year head coach to finish at 8-4. The schedule got a bit easier as they win four straight to close the regular season against Cincinnati, Southern Utah, Massachusetts and Utah St.
Thursday December 22nd
Idaho Potato Bowl
7PM ET—Idaho vs. Colorado St (ESPN)
Idaho will say goodbye to FBS competition as they demote themselves into FCS next season. Still the Vandals finished at 8-4 by closing with a four game win streak.
Colorado St was 7-5 ending the regular season on a high note by beating New Mexico at home and San Diego St. They are a scoring machine pushing across 42 points or greater in four of their final five games.
Friday December 23rd
Bahamas Bowl
1PM ET—Eastern Michigan vs. Old Dominion (ESPN)
Old Dominion -3 ½ points
Eastern Michigan is a nice story earning a bowl berth at 7-5 after being a cellar dweller for years in the MAC. They come off a five point home victory to Central Michigan.
Old Dominion finished 9-3 and missed out of the Conference USA Championship Game with a loss at Western Kentucky. The Monarchs have defeated the Eagles in 2014 and 2015 non-conference season.
