The NCAA Tournament Final Four is here and Tony and Mitch cover the big games from Saturday.
Saturday April 4th—
6:09PM ET–Michigan St vs. Duke (TBS)
Line: Duke -5 with a total of 139 ½ points.
Michigan St a seventh seed had the harder road to the Final Four as they picked up wins against Georgia, Virginia, Oklahoma and Louisville. They needed OT to get past a cold shooting Louisville team in the Elite 8.
Duke after a blowout win against Robert Morris faced opponents out west as they picked up wins against San Diego St, Utah and Gonzaga. It was a good defensive performance in the Elite 8 as they held Gonzaga to just 52 points with 2 of 10 three pointers.
8:49PM ET—Kentucky vs. Wisconsin (TBS)
Line: Kentucky -5 with a total of 131 points
Kentucky survived a scare from Notre Dame in the Elite 8 with the 68-66 victory. It was a big game by Karl Anthony Towns with 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting.
Wisconsin beat Arizona for the second consecutive year in the Elite 8 with an 85-78 victory as a +1 ½ point underdog. The Badgers go 55% from the floor and 12 of 18 from three with Sam Dekker and Frank Kaminsky combining for 56 points. Dekker was 5 of 6 from three.

Notable Opening Series
St Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs–
They open up play Sunday at 8PM Eastern Time over ESPN TV.
There were big changes for the Chicago Cubs over the offseason. Jon Lester was acquired in the offseason. Can Jake Arrieta continue his good play. Is the Cubs pitching staff top to bottom good enough to compete for a division crowns?
St Louis Cardinals somehow find a way into the post season. Adam Wainwright was sidelined early in camp with an ab strain but is pointed to getting the start on Sunday night.
Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees—
ARod could be a distraction. Pitching staff health concerns are huge.
Blue Jays failed to meet high expectations the past couple of years.
New York Mets at Washington Nationals—
Nationals have the look of World Series favorite with a starting staff of Scherzer, Zimmermann, Strasburg, Fister and Gio Gonzalez.
Mets have a good starting staff but the bats remain a question. People in New York worried that Met ownership is too cheap to spend to fix holes in the lineup.
San Diego Padres at LA Dodgers—
San Diego adds Kemp, Justin Upton and Will Myers to their everyday lineup. Infield still a question mark as is outfield defense. Pitching staff is rock solid.
LA makes changes at 2b and SS as Kendrick and Rollins is the new double play combination. Will Joc Pederson be the 2015 Rookie of the Year? The pitching staff beyond Kershaw and Greinke is a question mark. Closer Kenley Janson hurt first day of spring training moves to the DL until May and now Brandon League is shut down for two months due to shoulder discomfort. Ryu injured shoulder a huge concern.
Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals—
It was a roster upgrade for the White Sox in 2015. Jeff Samardzija added to the rotation. We know Sale is good but can Noesi, Danks and Quintana perform well? Bullpen was a disaster last year.
KC adds Edinson Volquez to their young staff after losing James Shields in free agency. KC had some turnover offensively.
LA Angels at Seattle Mariners—
After suffering that horrible knee injury last year Garrett Richards won’t be ready for the opener. Offense was disappointing in the post season.
Some pundits believe this Mariner team can compete for division crown. King Felix and Iwakuma are a solid 1-2 punch in the starting rotation. Can their offense provide enough runs to get the Mariners into the postseason?
Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds—
Pirates starting staff remains intact and the team has a good outfield.
Cincinnati could lose Johnny Cueto as he will be a free agent at the end of the year and there has been no contract from Reds. They trade away Alfredo Simon in the offseason for prospects. There is just negative vibes surrounding this franchise.
