NCAA Tournament Previews This Week:
Saturday March 31st—

6:09PM ET—Loyola Chicago vs. Michigan (TBS)
Michigan -5.5 with over under 129.5
From San Antonio
Loyola Chicago an 11th seed have beaten Miami, Tennessee and Nevada by two points or fewer in their first three games of the NCAA Tournament. In the Elite Eight it was a Ramblers 78-62 victory to Kansas St behind a 57.4% shooting team and 9 of 18 from three. They pulled down eight more boards than the Wildcats.
Michigan had a scare in the second round needing a buzzer beater to get past Houston 64-63. Then in the Sweet Sixteen it was a 99-72 blowout to Texas A&M. They got past Florida St in the Elite Eight 58-54 shooting just 38.8% with 4 of 22 from three. But they held the Seminoles to 32% shooting.
8:49PM ET—Villanova vs. Kansas (TBS)
Villanova -5 with over under 154.5.
From San Antonio
Villanova has pounded teams in the NCAA Tournament beating Radford, Alabama, West Virginia and Texas Tech by 12 points or greater. In the Big East tourney they beat all three opponents by double digits. Remember they outscored Provided by 10 in overtime in the Big East final.
Kansas can hang with Villanova. They are a good shooting team hitting their threes in the NCAA Tournament. They got past Duke in overtime 85-81 in the Elite Eight behind Malik Newman with 32 points.
MLB Previews
St Louis Cardinals at New York Mets—
Game 1 Thursday Martinez vs. Syndergaard with Mets -145 with over under 7. This is a three game series. Syndergaard missed five months last season but had a good spring. Second straight opening day start for Martinez.
Houston Astros at Texas Rangers—
Game 1 Thursday Justin Verlander vs. Cole Hamels with Houston -159 favorite with total of 10. This is a four game series. Houston now has Verlander for a full season and had good acquisitions to their rotation in the offseason. Hamels ERA was over five in two starters against the Astros last season.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays—
Game 1 Thursday Luis Severino vs. J.A. Happ with New York -140 with over under 8.5. This is a four game series. Severino makes his first opening day start for New York. He went 14-6 with an ERA of 2.98 a year ago. Happ in his 12th season makes is first opening day start due to injury to Stroman’s shoulder early in the spring.
Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays—
Game 1 Thursday Chris Sale vs. Chris Archer with Boston -156 with over under 7. This is a four game series. Sale is a great regular season pitcher but has issues in the post season. Archer has thrown over 200 innings the past three season but has a record under .500 in each of those seasons.
LA Angels vs. Oakland Athletics—
Game 1 Thursday Garrett Richards vs. Kendall Gravemen with Angels -122 odds with over under 9. This is a four game series. The big question for the Angels is if their starting rotation can remain healthy. Graveman threw only 105 innings last year due to shoulder injuries. He went 6-4 with an ERA of 4.19.
San Francisco Giants vs. LA Dodgers—
Game 1 Thursday Ty Blach vs. Clayton Kershaw with LA -285 odds with total of 7. This is a four game series. Giants suffer injuries to Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardizja. They finished 40 games behind LA last year. Dodgers are without Justin Turner for a month with a broken wrist. Kershaw looked strong in the spring.
Cleveland Indians vs. Seattle Mariners—
Game 1 Thursday Corey Kluber vs. Felix Hernandez with Cleveland -156 with total of 7.5. This is a three game series. Kluber looks to overcome a shaky postseason. Was the Cy Young Award winner. King Felix has dealt with injuries last year and is hoping to find his form from seasons past.
Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks—
Game 1 Thursday Jon Gray vs. Patrick Corbin with Arizona -116 odds with total of 9.5. This is a four game series. Gray was hit hard at Arizona in his final start of last year in an 11-8 defeat to Arizona in the Wildcard. Rockies got off to a fast start last year. Corbin in his six full season with the Diamondbacks earns his first career start. He hasn’t pitched up to his expectations.
